|
|
I usually hate these forum games, but I'm bored so I thought I'd give it a shot.
This thread is for us to post some of our "guilty pleasures" regarding DDR and Bemani games.
I'll start off;
I bought a case of Pepsi Max because it vaguely reminds me of the Maxx Unlimited logo.

This reminds me of the video game world, and the dying didder community I wish would just stay afloat:

I bought skater knee and hand pads when ITG2 came out, to play Disconnected Disco doubles, then released knee drops were a bad idea. |

I've always wanted to try knee drops. Maybe on cracked panels isn't a good idea, so I'll wait till the arcade and see if I make an idiot of myself. |

They're fun, but hurt without padding.
Extremely tiring too |

I'm 6'7", so my lower legs are longer than most.
Anyways, my first, only, and last knee drop I will ever do was about a year ago on ROMeo & Juli8 on Hard. I dropped, with my toes as far back on the R and D arrow as possible, but my knee cap still landed smack onto the screws and brackets on the opposite corners on the U and L arrows. My knees had bruises for about a week. T_T _________________

I'm guilty of buying both of the supernova series?
Building my own homepad a few months in?
I am guilty of hammering on the arcade pads, aswell as bar raping. Even on easy songs.
I couldn't help it though. The pads were incredibly shabby
And I get tired easily
Strange idea for a thread though Suko, I know I haven't seen it here before.

I've played DDR in the arcade in a banana suit on one occasion. It was Halloween and I really had nothing better to do
I've played barefoot more than once. Worst decision(s) ever.
I've played in socks a few times. Not as gross as barefoot but just as painful.
I literally jumped off the pads and did a little dance when I got my first arcade Heavy AAA. |

Banana suit = win
I wouldn't recommend barefoot unless you run barefoot and have conditioned feet , otherwise bracket ouchies.
(I prefer barefoot, but my closest arcade doesn't allow = poopy owner) |

You can always try those really thin dancing shoes (they are very very flexible). I use them and I really like them. (they use them for jazz dancing and so) |

Our Tilt says you can't play in socks or barefoot, but one summer day after bringing a roll of quarters and practicing between Pump It Up and didder for a while, my feet kinda hurt. Took 'em shoes off, and playing in socks was actually not bad, as long as you know to pick up your feet, derr.
Considering getting a pair of racing flats for when I get good at running /and/ DDR. |

The toe is awesome, every shoe I've ever warn to play ddr in has mauled my toe (my little one get's all crushed up and bloodly).
They feel like you're wearing a glove, take awhile to get the hang of putting them on though |

Wow, those "shoes" are crazy. I can see you liking them if you prefer playing barefoot. I never really new any hardcore players to go barefoot until last year. Now it seems like I keep running into barefoot players every month or so. It's strange.
Another guilty bemani fact:
I still love the J-Pop and Bubblegum Pop songs from the DDR series. I heard Nori Nori Nori on an internet radio station years ago and it's what got me interested in trying out DDR. _________________

Yeah I gotta admit I'm guilty of liking all that kinda music as well, which is strange because my music tastes generally gravitate towards heavy metal. So I'm the chick with the Slayer shirt dancing to Love Love Sugar.
Also I'm guilty of playing R3 at least once an aracde run...even though we've all seen someone face away from the screen during that middle part, and the steps are very simple. Idk I just think it's fun. _________________

Did you also do the bar hop to make sure it was the stereotypical R3 routine? _________________

I still smile whenever I see the numbers 573 or 555.
I still tap the Max 300 with my feet whenever I'm bored.
I too am guilty of falling in love with the happy J-pop found in DDR. I'm a huge Rise Against fan, so that kinda contrasts my usual tastes.
I try to visualize stepcharts to a lot of songs I listen to on the radio.
I have thrown DDR and ITG songs on my MP3 player.
I'm an ex-DDR player in denial. I keep telling myself my passion is in fighting games, and I love them, but I cant help but really miss DDR, ITG and the old local/online community. T_T I need help. |
