We're having weird issues with our 2P USB slot on our dedicab. It loads our cards fine, we can play through a set, and it seems to save the data. No problems, right? Well, not quite.

When we start the next set, we notice that 80% of the time, the 2P side won't show any of the high scores, screen shots, or calorie burn data we did on the last set. So it seems to not be saving the data to the 2P card properly before the game goes to the credits.

I've done a few tests using various cards, storage capacities, and brands, but it all comes down to the 2P side not saving the data fully, regardless of other factors. I'm somewhat leaning towards a dieing USB hub, but the fact that it mounts a USB card, and acts like everything is A-OK is odd.

Has anyone had this problem before, and if so, what should I do to fix it?

Yes I have the exact same problem with that cab I play on. The P2 USB doesn't save anything, and sometimes it just NoNames us. Attempting to take screenshots makes a "thunk" sound indicating no screenshot was taken. Let me know if you find a solution.

Our machine doesn't read as NoName or make the "thunk" noise when we try to save. In every respect it seems to work perfectly fine until you notice that the data from your last game is non-existent.

But if I find a solution, I'll be sure to post it here.

So it will still save screenshots but not high scores huh, our problems may not be so similar after all.

That's a good question. I haven't actually tested this theory...

As far as I know, none of the data is being saved to the memory stick at the end of a set. I haven't tried taking a SS though, and seeing if it remained on the card, even if a high score or calorie burn info wasn't.

So far it seems like no one has any advice for either of us yet. Oh yeah, perhaps I should mention that we have full access to this machine too.

Have u tried rebooting the machine?

Sometimes the usb slots won't read ur card at all, so usually I just reboot it and it comes out fine.

It's a personal machine and is off until we play it. So, yes, it is rebooted often enough.

Tested it.

Nope, it won't save screenshots either. Still doesn't make any weird sounds or anything. It appears to work, but if you check your card after a set, there're no updated scores or screenshots.

The port may have gotten corrupted (soda or some other foreign contaminant).

I would just replace the port.

How much do those cost? To replace the usb port?

The dedi at my local arcade also needs a little replacement.

i (we - im speaking for everyone) seem to be having this same issue at our location.

the right side card hardly ever displays calories burned..maybe every 3 or 4 games. alot of my scores aren't showing up for song i KNOW i have played. and just overall taking about 2 or 3 minutes to load my flash drive in the dance mode select screen

I can help you with this problem...

When you arrive and before you begin playing, unplug the machine and wait 10 seconds then plug it back in and let it startup. Usually resetting the machine like this helps with load times from the USB (especially if it hasn't been done for a while).

Also, I have "fixed" the USB issue with my machine. All of us who used the machine basically just removed the ITG2 folders from our cards and started fresh. I really didn't want to do this, but since then none of us has had any problems with missing game data or anything. I know getting everyone to start fresh with their memory cards is almost impossible for a player at an arcade to do, but it did work for us. (I'm suspicious that a local machine in the area does some weird crap to the USB cards when we play on it, then when that same card is used on our machine, it caused problems.).
