I'm running 3.95CVS off my laptop. My laptop is connected to the TV. Whenever i play like, 5 or 6 songs, and i choose from the ITG Rebirth pack, my Stepmania crashes and it tells me my graphics card was reinstalled sucessfully. WTF? Why does it not crash the first time around? Is it the TV? Plz Didder i need help!

This only happens when you choose ITG Rebirth, right?

I'm not 100% certain on this, but I think that series has its own videos. If this is so, disable your videos (or just delete them).

I seriously doubt it's your TV.

I have two solutions.

1. Don't play that pack on the 5 or 6 stage.
OR
2. Sometimes computers don't like keeping some hardware recognized. The same thing happened to my flash drive. Eventually it will probably keep it. If not, either listen to N8 or listen to solution 1.

Update: apparently this thing dies whenever it wants to. I was on song slection screen, left for a minute, and came back to that error.

Interesting. When you say hardware, do u mean my graphics card, my pad, or both? Its also a possibility i might have to update my drivers. I'll look into that.

It's probably your sound card, but it happens to all hardware: scanners, printers, cards, and yes your dance pad.

Interesting you would think that. The sound card is the last thing i would consider E1.gif. Interestingly enough, my soundcard did update, which is weird considerin my laptop is new. Guess technology moves that fast.

Talking about my laptop, i think it is my graphics card creating the lagg. Can anyone tell me if a ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics is good? Enough for Stepmania?

Also, would setting the power plan to "high performance" solve issues?

thx

If you want to test that out, I think you can change the graphics quality for Stepmania.

Give that a run.

Alright, I'll do that when i get home today. Do you know of a way to do that from one of that notepad files directly?

Also, I found the ATI logistics center of whatever it's called on my menu. It has a whole bunch of values for graphical stuff, might be what i'm looking for to up graphic performance.

You ran Rebirth on 3.95?

I did that too, it never worked.

I don't think it will.

I remember trying 4.0 beta, or something from naota3k.com

Either ITG PC or mDawg's ITG.

3.95 has a lot of bugs and crashes with some of the BGAnimations with rebirth. Either Download a new pack without videos or start using OpenITG

OK, lately i have not been crashing. I updated my soundcard and i got weird results. First couple of times playing, ITG crashed giving me a error saying it didn't know my soundcard or something. However, i have not been getting that error or the first error now for a long time. Rather, i am still having problems with lagg, mostly on certain songs. My crap-o-pad cobalt of 1 year has had enough, i guess E1.gif. This doesn't help with troubleshooting, though. Generally at the begginig of 16th streams, i am getting chunky arrows, and once in awhile i get this weird flickering, like MY GRAPHICS CARD WILL FAIL. However, it's been good recently.
Right...
Anyways, i'll just use an example. This is my LAGG problem. I'm playing Tricky Disco by Rynker (not the discotronic one) I could swear I'm hitting on time, but i get GREAT- everytime. In fact, i seem to be hitting late with alot of stuff, unless i hit absurdly early. This has to be a calibration thing! Is there an option to calibrate? Because i think Stepmania is done crashing on me. I love troubleshooting.
