Project Destruction is an all metal simfile pack created by the stepfile artists at r21freak! R21freak has a reputation for having gimmicky files (mostly due to previous site packs) but this site pack is stepped by a completely different group of people and doesn't have any gimmicks to trip you up.

Expert charts in this pack range from 10 blocks to 16 blocks. If you're looking for a pack of stamina 15s, you're looking in the wrong place. The longest song in the pack is 3:10 and most of the songs are r23 compatible.

The last thing we were trying to do was create another Cosmic Apocalypse, but a lot of these songs are fast with some fast drumming, guitar solos, and the like, so most of the expert charts are 13 blocks. Even if you can't do 13 block charts, every song has full singles charts with hard charts ranging 9-11*, medium charts 5-9*, easy charts 4-7*, and Novice charts 1-3. There are also 3 doubles expert charts included in the pack.

Basically, no matter how good you are at ITG, you'll have something to play in this pack; Especially if you're a power metal fan. E13.gif

Since it's 3AM and I'm reeeeeally tired, I'm not going to type up a long description or who did what chart. That will come tomorrow night. Keep in mind that this is not arcade synced. I will post a pack of .sm files fixing the sync tomorrow so it's synced to the arcade. I'll also update the zip file with the correct sync. The sync isn't bad on most of the songs, but some of them need to be fixed. I'm play testing tomorrow to check the sync. All of the songs should already be patched.

Songlist:

A Feast For The Vain - Kamelot
Almost Easy - Avenged Sevenfold
Battlefield - Blind Guardian
Beyond Life's Scenery - Sirenia
Cadence of Her Last Breath - Nightwish
Days Without - All That Remains
Down from the Sky - Trivium
French Inquisition - Bleeding Through
Halt Mich - Lacrimosa
Hellhounds On My Trail - Children Of Bodom
Insurrection - Trivium
Into the Mouth of Hell We March - Trivium
Living Dead Beat - Children Of Bodom
Miasma - The Black Dahlia Murder
Needled 24/7 - Children Of Bodom
Nothing Left - As I Lay Dying
Rule the World - Kamelot
San Sebastian - Sonata Arctica
The Mind Maelstrom - Sirenia
The Serpentine Offering
This Is Who We Are - As I Lay Dying
This War is Ours (The Guillotine Part II) - Escape the Fate

I'd like to thank all of the stepfile artists who dedicated hours of their time to make this pack awesome! E1.gif

You can see the hard charts to 2 Children of Bodom songs in the preview vids. The expert charts for those songs are similar to their hard charts but have longer 16th streams and more jumps.

I like the step construction that was put into Insurrection.

You weren't afraid to make the arrow placement difficult (ie. jacks) - which is a plus.

The War is Ours was well done too... I like what you did with the rolls.

I'm generally against jackhammers, but stevereen did great with the step placement.

A lot of stepping dynamic is lost if you only put steps that you are accustomed to playing or like.

I got so much flack for putting doublestepping in my charts... but I think it encourages a different point of view to the game than sticking to "safe patterns".

Some step artists have very interesting ideas when it comes to step construction - and I would like to see those ideas revisited or expanded upon. Keep in mind though I'm pulling from stuff way back in the day ... like Bemaniruler and Tournamix age stuff.

Also, I really like what was done with End of the Century on DDR (once again this is what I am pulling on from my experience) - the steps are so unusual but it really is a fun chart to play.

Double-stepping can be done correctly at slower speeds and with patterns that control it. Generally 8th notes. As long as it's in the realm of shuffling and done in a controlled manner, it's fine.

That's what made EOTC so novel when it came out. People weren't sure IF they could double step it. I remember trying to turn it when I was learning it.

In quite a few of my simfiles (mostly Lune Noir, which is pretty slow (8ths at 200)) sometimes I have "guided doublestepping". (it's doublestepping with a certain way you have to doublestep it. It's guided with holds)

You see that a little bit in this pack, but it's mostly with the medium and hard charts.

Some good stuff in this pack...but I'm wondering about the authors' ability to pass 13s. I'm just starting on 13s and some of these 13s look outrageously hard, but then again I have no footspeed (which is what a metal fan should possess above all else, right? ;____; )

Great pack overall though. Now lets see some Miasma videos from people!

The Serpentine Offering has been re-rated to 14 and French Inquisition is being re-rated to 15 whenever I update. Insurrection is pretty insane at the end, and Stevereen made that. He says it's a 13. None of the other 13's are really that hard. San Sebastian expert is a medium 13 an San Sebastian hard is an easy 13. Needled 24-7 and even Hellhounds On my trail are easy 13's.

Hell yeah, I wish there were more doubles charts, but what I find amazing is all difficulty levels for singles, allowing every level of player to enjoy this!

Great job guys can't wait to play this!!

The original plan was to have full singles and doubles charts for every song, but my deadline for getting this pack finished is actually tonight since r21freak is making a new site pack pretty soon. I would've had to step every doubles chart myself, and that's no fun. That way, this wouldn't have been out until at least June.

We'll be working on the sequel this summer right after the next r21freak pack is released, which usually takes 2 months. Assuming that's the case, we'll start in late June and get the sequel out by August. Project Destruction took 4 months though, so 2 months might be pushing it.

I'm also aiming for full singles and partial doubles for the next one. Every chart having enough doubles charts so the easiest is a 9. It could be expert only, but if the expert is a 13, it'll probably have a hard 11 and medium 9. I don't want to spend a huge amount of time on doubles, but I still want it to be more accessible.

I hope you guys enjoy the charts! This took a lot of time lol

Yeah it looks awesome, I can't wait to try it out this weekend.

Doubles charts would be appreciated. Perhaps someone could make some in a future update.

Can't wait to see the next one E4.gif
More Children of Bodom, Blind Guardian, and Nightwish please!!

For songs, I'd love to see:
CoB: Warheart, Downfall, Taste Of My Scythe from CoB
BG: Into the Storm, Precious Jerusalem, Fly,
Kamelot: Center of the Univers

Songs would have to be shortened a bit if you choose to use them.

Great mix, I'll be playing this Sunday!!
