First off, I thought Super Nova 1 & 2 were pretty awful. Each of those games had about 5-10 songs each that I didn't mind dancing to, and the whole game style was monotone and dull. Those 2 games kind of killed my love for DDR, and after reading mostly negative comments here about X, I had no rush in purchasing it.

Well, I picked it up at TRU during their B2G1F sale, as I couldn't resist DDR X for only $19.99.

Having VERY low expectations for this game, I opened it up, and I can't believe the complaints! Mind you, I only play DDR for its workout mode, so complaints about things like shock arrows I couldn't care less about.

Anyway, I wrote a very detailed report into the DDR feedback for what I wanted in the next game, and it's like they listened to me. I said I wanted more dance/trance music, wanted background videos back, and the old simple unlock system (I hated that hassle store system). Check. Check. Check.

I just opened it tonight and played it about an hour, but I can tell you that I like many of the songs and step charts. There's nothing awful about this game so far, so I can only assume the complaints stem from the hardcore DDR players. Best PS2 DDR since Extreme 2 for me.

Idk why you all hate all DDR's after Extreme2. Yes, Supernova-X aren't as good as Extreme/Max. That doesn't mean they suck as much as you act like they do. I though Supernova1 was great. It has good Licensed songs (wayyy better than stuff from Extreme 2) and the boss songs are really good compared to other boss songs *cough*Candy* and Kakumei*cough*. Supernova2 was (even though not the best) good. Yes, Arrabiatta is really hard. Yes, Unreal should not be a boss song. Yes, the licenses weren't that wonderful. But come on, you can't deny that Paranoia Hades is pretty cool. And X: Yes, the announcer is annoying. Yes, they could've given us the planet songs in SuperNOVA. Yes, we still don't have all of them. Yes, the shock arrow thing isn't what we expected. They brought back some great songs like Dub-I-Dub and Hero AND BUTTERFLY (And I thought 30 Lives was kinda amusing). It has lots of characters and a pretty good (in some parts) story mode. (Almost done) It's not like there are no good things in SuperNova-X. Yes, they're not as good as Original-Extreme 2. That doesn't mean they suck.

Ok rant over E1.gif

Weird, I think I have everything but Pluto unlocked. I finished all of SMM on the difficult mode, which unlocked almost everything (I have the Pluto remix unlocked, but not Pluto itself). It unlocks every third song on game mode, but only on Expert, which is impossible since I can't even practice it. What gives?

I usually accept the CS games for what they are and have no complaints, but Supernova was the worst one. The licenses were horrible(Shout, Turn on the Music, Come Clean, Dance Dance), the KOs were horrible(both Flows, La Tierra Buena, Baile La Samba, iFuturelist) and they put too many boss songs in one game. Plus, Stellar Master Mode was just ridiculous. It shouldve been called In the Groove 3.

WOW. The feeding frenzy on all three titles that I've heard so far make this year sound like the biggest love-or-hate-it year ever! Fortunately, it seems that nearly everybody has found at least one mix they like, though.

For how much I think X > U3 (overall), I must admit, I *am* jealous that they got Conga! :/ BTW, for all of you looking for psychotic L 9~10-equal Oni charts (sensible or not), *that's* where they all went.

Mad Catz Beat Pad Pro, the thick foam kind. Their PS2 products are shit, but their 360 pad is worlds better than the crap that comes in the bundles.

the beat pad pro is kind of hard to find now and $100 is kind of ridiculous for a decent foam pad that only works on 1 console. i liked $70 for my multiplatform BNS spark DX pad. frick microsofts stupid rules.

I've got a Pelican Universal mat for 20 bucks and it works great. I thinking about getting another pad so I can play 2p without having to use a controller.

Crap, $100? I only paid $50-60 for mine. I'm glad I got it when I did.

What do you think are the worst songs in DDR X?

Big Girls Dont Cry
Lift You Up
Sound of Freedom
Slip Out remix
Trigger
30 Lives

Also, can these songs be unlocked by playing Game Mode?

Waiting for You
Pluto
Pluto Relinquish
Uranus
X-Mix 5
On the Bounce

Pretty good chance for all of them since they are Konami original songs.

I think the remixes of songs from X CS (Dance Floor, Slip Out, Taj He Spitz) are going to be similar to the 3 remixes from SN US and we're just gonna have to wait for X2 (<- Ugh.) to come out before we see them in the arcade.

They should be because they are NEW Konami Original songs, and sure would be stupid not to include them in a CS game based off an AC game that hasnt even come out yet.
