This (1.0) is the version I played in October.

This (1.5, or sometimes called "Internet Ranking Version") is the one you're thinking of that was released in November. My "local" arcade (the Papillon in Kyoto, a few blocks from the Shijou train station) already had 1.0 and upgraded to this version as soon as it was released.

It appears that DDR Freak's arcade version list is incomplete.

Really? I thought that DDR first came out on Nov. 20th, 1998. I've heard that this is one reason for the title of the song 20, November. Was I misinformed?
No, the song 1998 by Naoki refers to the year of DDR's release date, 1998.

-When you judge your ability to pass a song as whether or not you can AA it.

-When you play DDR music... at work... in an office...

-You make a budget and you include "DDR money" as a line item.

Yeah, I knew that about 1998. I don't remember where, but I remember hearing that about 20, November. I'm not saying it was legit, I just remember hearing that "rumor" somewhere.

If that's the case, then November 20th this year will be DDR's 10th birthday!! I'll make sure I AAA 20, November and 1998 on some difficulty that day.

When you haven't played DDR in three weeks: you start having withdrawals, randomly breaking down and crying, and want to kill every person who has played more DDR than you.

(My parents took away my PS2, and Stepmania doesn’t fill the hole in my heart…..)

DDR's already ten years old. Turned ten sometime in September.

20, November was in Beatmania months before DDR was released. It has nothing to do with the date that DDR was released.

That last one was clever E4.gif "You know you have been playing Dance Dance Revolution too much when you..." ...play to the point of not having fun, lose sleep, forget to eat, allow the game to take over any important parts of life such as career or family. I saw an episode of Dr. Phil other day -- it was about people whose lives had been destroyed by video games because they got carried away playing them for hours each day. I suppose this stresses the fact that moderation is the key to optimal enjoyment as epicureanism (correct me if I have the wrong philosophy) suggests, otherwise we do the game as well as ourselves a great injustice.

Well, the console game I've done that, and it's tough.

That withdrawal thing happened to me when I hadn't played DDR for a week and a half. I was on vacation in rural Texas, and I would be miserable at some times because there was no DDR available. E2.gif

umm... i can so relate. I'm in college, and I haven't played DDR for 1 1/2 weeks because my PS2 is at home, and there's no arcade around here. I won't be able to play DDR until next weekend, and I don't know how i'm going to survive. Lately i've been in a bad mood and all i've been able to do is Stepmania which is great but it's a whole different thing. I hate everyone who can play ddr right now >frown.gif
