Someone please clarify all this.

Is Stepmania the same as OpenITG?

OK, I have stepmania, and songs that work fine. I download OpenITG and I can not get songs to upload or work! What am I doing wrong? I downloaded a 1.3 gig file with ITG songs in it...I am completely lost...

can someone pls help me set up ITG so i can play songs? Clarify Stepmania etc for me? I would really appreciate it! E19.gif

Okay

"In the Groove" is its own game that is made off of "Stepmania 3.9" "Stepmania 3.9" is the most popular and stable build. OpenITG is a replica of ITG for people that want it but can find it know the Konami Law Suit. OpenITG is based off of "Stepmania 3.9+" "Stepmania 3.9+" is a 3rd part build of 3.9 to make Rolls Stepmania compatible. Rolls are when you tap the long note over and over until it ends. StepMania4.0 is the newst build of stepmania that is hardly stable and can barley able take the most simple sim files. PM me for more help.

Technically correct, but probably not what you meant.
In The Groove 1 is based off StepMania 3.9 (alpha 22, I think).
In The Groove 2 is based off StepMania 4.0 CVS 06-19-05, a.k.a. 3.95.

Very wrong. OpenITG is based off "3.95", as In The Groove 2 is. This is important because themes, noteskins, etc. for 3.9 will NOT work on OpenITG.

Very wrong. StepMania 4.0 is still in development, but it is stable enough to use and more people need to use it because the developers need bugs reported that they don't find.
