Well, SuperNOVA JP CS was in January and SuperNOVA2 JP CS was February, so that wouldn't be right either . _________________

Yup I think it's been September for PS2 releases since MAX 2. |

Well, only since no one else has said it yet... (or cares)
Woo! Butterfly on our PS2!
Thank you Konami! That is great news indeed. _________________

That's a pittance compared to the NOTHING we got about the rest of the game. _________________

Konami is just using the new foot ratings to keep pumping out boring 6-foot expert charts and call them 13s to make it seem more difficult. I would argue going to 11 or 12 might have made sense due to the extremely difficult patterns from recent boss songs, having 20 different levels will generate even more debate about where a song should land, and I don't think there can be enough differentiation in lower-level charts to warrant having (in pre-X terms) a 1 versus a 1.5.
Just bring back decent licenses and expert charts that resemble something from the Max days. |

I didn't realize you had seen all the stepcharts from X.
P.S. A 13 is more like moderate to high 9, such as HVAM. A 6 would be somewhere around an 8 on the new scale. _________________

Obviously. But why go to a 20 scale instead of something smaller? There was never really a problem with the lower end of the scale, only the 9s and 10s because the more recent releases upped the difficulty. Instead of expanding the 9 and 10 tier and reclassifying only those, they blew it up to a 20 and now you have to reclassify ALL stepcharts. Besides, there isn't enough differentiation on the lower end to warrant a difference between a 1 and a 2 (on the new scale). |

Are you saying there isn't a big difference in difficulty between Raspberry Heart and Moonster? Or how about Shades of Grey and Captivate? When you try to lump thousands of charts into ten groups, there are going to be discrepancies. In theory, if you lump everything into twenty groups, there should be fewer discrepancies. _________________

I understand the point. Again, my only qualm is that 20 seems like too much. Go to 13. Bump stuff like moonster to an 8, bump stuff like Cartoon Heroes to a 10, move the awful oni charts for that last two mixes' boss charts to a 12 or 13, and realize that, aside from gimmicks and completely crap patterns, having 13s should be rare.
Heck, why not take it to 50 or 100 if being able to differentiate is both possible and useful? Why not 1000? |

Our community really seems comfortable with the number "13". 13 is the highest-rated ITG chart, so we tend not to think outside the box too much. Having the rating system go higher than that seems like a bigger step forward, and could help us get out of the "ITG mindset". Anything to move beyond the status quo, I always say.

Honestly, I would have preferred a 1-100 rating system, or something more akin to the Pop'n Music system. But maybe thats just me. _________________

I dunno, the 1-100 scale seems a bit drastic... I mean what's the difference between a song that's a 96 and a song that's a 99? the 1-13 scale's pretty good... but I like the explanation of the conversion between the old 1-11 and the new system... makes sense to me. _________________

Hey guys,
I'm making a quick stop from the comic-con, I'm sad to report that DDR Hottest Party 2 is the only DDR related game there at the moment. The booth was REALLY small compared to past years, so it's no surprise at all!
Here are the songs on the demo!
Songs in Yellow
Black or White / Prince Royal
Bust A Move / Young MC (Includes Promotional Music Video Background!)
Come Rain Come Shine / Jenn Cuneta
D.A.N.C.E. / Justice
Makes Me Wonder / Sunshine Superman
Nite Runner / FRAZ
Red Alert / Basement Jaxx (Includes Promotional Music Video Background!)
Scramble / System 7
Tribulations / LCD Soundsystem
Umbrella / Haley Hunt
We Got The Beat / Pop n' Fresh
Songs in White
Lesson by DJ / U.T.D. & Friends
Lesson2 by DJ / MC DDR
Closer to my Heart (jun remix) / NM feat. Heather Elmer
Desert Journey / dj TAKA
escape / U1 & Krystal B
INTO YOUR HEART (Ruffage remix) / NAOKI feat. YASMINE
KYOKA-SUIGETSU-ROW (DDR EDITION) / TERRA feat. Uchusentai NOIZ (!!!x100)
JUST BELIEVE / Lea Drop feat. Marissa Ship
Racing with Time (NAOKI'S 999 remix) / jun feat. Heather Twede (gedis)
STAY (Joey Riot remix) / DANNY D
Pretty exciting, huh? Anyway, that's it from me at the moment. I'll probably have some media later on as or maybe after the con progresses. Let's knock on wood that they switch out the game for another one every day or something!

That's what I'm hoping. If you see a Konami employee, you should ask them about it .
I'm soooo jealous of the jun+Naoki stuff there. And of course the dj Taka song >_>. And seriously, where did the V5 TERRA song come from all the sudden. That had BETTER be in X AC at least. _________________

KYOKA-SUIGETSU-ROW (DDR EDITION) / TERRA feat. Uchusentai NOIZ - This is from GF/DM V5 if I'm not mistakin'. Wow, that was quite fast, Konami. Now, where's our V, V2, & V4 transplants?
Desert Journey - Wow, a new DJ Taka song! Can't wait to hear it. Hoping this (& the Terra song) both make it onto X. |

A little bit of trivia for you guys. Uchusentai NOIZ is a visual kei band who performed their first US concert at Pacific Media Expo 2006(PMX), in Los Angeles. :3 _________________
