lol I didn't like her that much. As much as I've known how crappy she was, I never got a chance to actually play enough Solo 2000 to hear her say "YOU SUCK!". Anyone have video/audio of it?

Nice to know the ambiguous 10-Foot rating and its chosen 10-footers are finally intended to be revised with more sensibility. Here's hoping Konami is going to be smart about it.

I personally welcome the Shock Arrows. The idea that ITG's mines forced the player to hop in certain stepcharts' uses of it was something I found a nice touch to the hardcore gameplay. Once again, here's hoping Konami is going to be smart about it.

Sheesh, so not only did they expand the difficulty system like they promised, but they went well beyond the 13-foot scale we heard about. Look at the ratings for those Max songs... Faxx Hard as a 17-footer... PHades Ex as an 18... ugh...

And OMFG SABER WING. That song is nice.

Max300 on the wheel is one thing, but including Faxx, Pluto Rel, and Hades seems ridiculous.

At least he sounds better than Scotty D in Supernova's beginner mode.

We shouldn't compare these at all to ITG's 10+ difficulty level. The difficulty ratings appear to be totally reworked in this DDR mix. CSFILSM is now a 14 when it was previously a 9. Apparently DDRX isn't quite refining their approach to 10 footers by adding more ratings, but appears to be doing something closer to redoing nearly the entire rating system. Under this system, a 10 footer could be the equivalent of an old-system's 8 footer.

And who knows? More ratings with a smaller range of difficulty could prove more convenient in the long run if Konami knows how to establish the ratings sensibly. Though I do know one thing: we didn't need all the MAX-SN2 10s to be the same rating. But I can't help but wonder if this is Konami shooting themselves in the foot. If they had trouble rating songs under the 1-10 system in SN2, what makes anyone think they'll have an easier time with this 1-18+ system?

Wait what? So now people are now complaining when too many former 10 footers make the cut? Oh geez, I've seen it all now...for years people have demanded more "10s" and now...oh nevermind. =P

Even Konami isn't silly enough not to give us enough songs of the easier (MAX-SN2's 1-9) variety, and that's saying quite a lot. So I don't think we'll have to worry about a list being too saturated with difficult songs.

The rating scale has been changed from 1-10 to 1-20. The song ratings have been changed to fit into this scale. Basically...15 is the new 10 foot rating it seems. Though, LOM should really be a 16 if MAX 300 is a 15.

Also, I added the last bit of info to that post. It seems this is all we are getting from this location test. Tons more will probably be revealed at the U.S. testing.

Iunno, I think I'm still kinda hung up on those as "Boss" songs, especially given how much of a jump over the previous 10's they are.

The difficulty system is expanded 1-20, and it seems like the difficulties have been translated by multiplying about 1.3x-1.5x their previous rating. (This still applies for Faxx and such, which every ITG player will tell you is an 11 or 12).

And again, my only problem with having new unfilled difficulty slots is that Konami will feel compelled to fill them with difficult songs, and Konami is not especially good at writing high-quality challengers.

So, Saber Wing is a Final Stage-only song? This means that it's only selectable as the last in the 3-song set, before Extra, right? Or did they rename ES and OMES to Final and Extra? Also, a 13 (On The Break) seems pretty easy for Extra Stage...

YES. I have wanted this for so long, I can't tell you how many Vivid arrows have blended in with a blue-green background and made me miss.

Thank goodness for these new ratings. Now we can put those horrible Supernova 2 rankings behind us. Those were some of the hardest 9s (and sometimes 8s) ever.

They have also balanced it between difficulty levels - a Basic 5 and Standard 5 are now the same difficulty.

And although there are no images of them so far, the Shock Arrows are reported to look like small lightning bolts.

Shock Arrows only appear on one song so far:

Flight of the Phoenix / Jena Rose

We only know its oni rating which is 7. In fact, I think it ONLY had an oni rating at the test.

Cameras are strictly barred at the Japanese location tests, so besides maybe a few sneaked pictures and bad quality videos, there'll be nuffin.

Konami MAY show something new for DDR X today, but eh...I'm doubting it.

DDR Happy Sky-esque interface is good....but..

Quote:
SHOCK ARROWS
Stepping on shock arrows will cause damage to lifebar, break combo and will cause momentary stealth. Shock arrows are displayed as white arrows with a lightning effect around it. Avoiding the shock arrows will give OK, but stepping on one will give NG.

Songs with shock arrows have an icon shown during MUSIC SELECT. When you select a song with shock arrows, the SHOCK ARROW help message is displayed.

THIS IS BAD.

It's probably just a quick blink. I bet it's not any harder than Hidden.

The From DDR Blog states that this will have a full chart on the final version. They only put an oni chart in the location test version because they wanted to encourage players to play Shock Arrows.
