Hmm, I figured if anyone would revive Franky Gee's group, it'd be his son.

Anyway, after hearing the "intro" and Push It Up on the site, I'm not sure what to make of this new guy's style. It's not necessarily bad, just very different from what I'm used to hearing come from the Captain Jack name.

Also heard Rock U, but I just didn't like that song.

This sounds none of the late Francisco Gutierrez's sounds, as Bruce and Jamie have the new rendition sound more like American mainstream rap & hip hop. disturb.gif

*after having trouble with the english version link, listens to music*
"...what??this sounds nothing like the old captain jack!"(starts bawling)"...I MISS CAPTAIN JACK!!!"
EDIT: judging from the yucky hip-hop/RNB sound, i can see "the new" frankie gee will not be on anymore upcoming DDR games

Dear Pyrexia,

As one of the older DDR fans who started playing the game in 3rd/4thMIX AC, I am obliged to tell you that most of us DDR fans grew up, seeing DDR being just NAOKI (yes, we did consider BeForU as his proteges, under his wings) and Dancemania, while IIDX & pop'n went on a roster-hogging spree; as a result, Captain Jack has a special place in the hearts and minds of DDR fans because we grew up playing his songs.

As for username Slowpoke's comments, Bruce and Jamie give us the impression that they are ignorant of the late Franky Gee's style, which we grew up with.

I hope you understand our sentiments in this issue.

A Full-time DDRer since 4thMIX SOLO AC,
Tim!

*sniffle*
but that's not captain jack! what's the point of konami putting the songs "they're" making on the games if it's not the same captain jack that we love and adore? they've taken captain jack and turned it into a RnB/pop/hip hop group...where's the eurodance music? where's the trance??

If you're referring to Bruce and Jamie, then, thank Viacom for that (don't ask me, I just found out the hard way when I saw, "This video was removed due to a copyright claim by Viacom" when I was trying to watch an official Captain Jack music video, which was uploaded by another user.

Also, the general consensus here is when we mention "We grew up playing Captain Jack's songs", we're specifically referring to the late Francisco Gutierrez.
