Just remember not to load too many songs on one disc or else your PS2 laser will die. |

So what happens when you take a speedrunner, and take away his fancy DVD recorders and VCRs and whatnot and force him to reproduce a run on the spot in front of an audience? Further, what if the game you had him run had a reputation for being one of the hardest games on the NES? And what if you muted the sound so he couldn't rely on aural cues on the game to help him with how to get through certain sections?
Well, at MAGFest, we're going to find out. In something we dubbed Pianotoads (Because we couldn't come up with anything better that accurately described it), I'm going to attempt a live almost-speedrun (Certain elements sacrifice pure speed for the sake of the performance) of the game Battletoads for fellow speedrunner and piano player Daniel "Kareshi" Brown plays the game's soundtrack live on piano.
MAGFest, or the Music and Gaming Festival, is a video-game centered convention on the east coast (Specifically, in Virginia), featuring a slew a video game cover bands, a 24-hour game and LAN room, tournaments on all sorts of games, and just a really fun time for all involved. The 'Con itself runs from January 3rd to the 6th; Pianotoads takes place January 4th (Friday) at 11AM. Check the 'Con out if you're in the area. _________________

I've been using my swap magic disk for over a year. Nothings happened yet.
Sometimes the ps2 has trouble loading some games.
I just use the card again to play those stubborn games. _________________

Anyways, I have my English midterm tomorrow, I barely studied, and I shouldn't even be on the internet. Procrastination's gay. |

"Wow, you must be like some sort of champion!" -Little kid, to me, after I got 96 Greats on Across the Nightmare Oni.
Yes, 96 greats is a terrible score (As I explain here, years of home version play has left me with an ability to full combo pretty much everything, but with no accuracy whatsoever), but the ego boost was nice anyway. _________________
