So today I was playing some supernova 2 (ps2) and happened to be playing the songs "Faster Kill kitty Cat" and "Honey Punch" and I have to say those are the worst ddr song cuts to me. What's your most hated song cut that happened in ddr?

If you haven't played Dynamite Rave Long Version, do it now.

I was surprised when I found Be Lovin was cut because it was only cut by a few seconds and it's not that long of a song to begin with.

Himawari. It bothered me so much I went into Stepmania and replaced the song file with the full version. D:

Not cutting Under The Sky wouldn't have helped it any, by the way. blink.gif

Since I only play at the arcade, I don't really notice cuts like that.

Alphabet Aerobics from Ultramix 3. Not that the song itself offered room for a great deal of phrase variation, but it's still horrendously long and repetitive unless you're too distracted laughing at the song itself. Worst of all, after that tiresome rap verse, a sample goes "Good, can you say it faster?", and then it just ends! It feels so out-of-place! erm.gif

Based off the top of my head:
Murmur Twins
Under The Sky
Dragon Blade (the song was already a perfect length! Why'd they cut off the last 20 seconds?!)
DanDanDo (bunch of beginning & end was cut out)
AA & A (good middle parts got cut out)
Rainbow Rainbow (again, good chunk of beginning got cut out that would've worked)
Red Zone (bunch of the middle got sliced out)

Now for the GOOD cuts:
Xepher (just took the long intro out that wasn't really dance-able in the 1st place & went right straight to the song)
Honey Punch (I have the full version so I know the difference)
Peace(^^)V (same thing)
Morning Glory (see above)
Seduction (Vocal Mix) (Got full version of this too)
Nijiiro (only took out the chorus at the beginning, which is almost the same as the preview, only just building up)
Rainbow Flyer (only took out the "hold 1 note for a few seconds" beginning)
Himawari (same as the GF/DM & IIDX version)
Gekkou Chou (only took quiet guitar part out)

the SN AC cut of PEACE(^^)v. It didn't need to be cut; Konami should've just put the entire song.

Heck, even one YouTube user commented:

This song screams for a long version revival in DDR.

The murmur twins cut is painful. I also dislike AA's cut and Tomorrow Perfume has an entire section cut out for absolutely no reason. Same goes for Rainbow Rainbow.

Honestly, I thought rainbow rainbow and RED ZONE got cut in the most reasonable parts of their compositions, primarily because the parts that got cut are in each song have some sort of repeat function in one way of another, with the other parts of the songs having some sort of singular purpose within their respective song composition.
For rainbow rainbow, the cut was in the intro, and was just a repeat of the intro melody that had only one minor change throughout. For RED ZONE, the cut was another set of lyrics that could have easily been discarded since the first set was already included in the song. Granted, both snippets ARE danceable parts, but I felt any other part of either song that would have been missing instead would have made each DDR cut end up more awkward.

My only gripe is that it's a shame rainbow rainbow got cut at all, as it's still a better song with its full intro that is only slightly longer (though the location of the cut, since one had to be made, was still a smart one, IMO). I would have thought the original song's 1:57 length was short enough, seeing as many DDR songs have hit 1:50, and Love is Dreaminess exceeds 2 minutes at 2:05 or something. Rainbow rainbow's cut had to only be something like 13-15 seconds.

(EDIT: Man, I got really annoyed at having to type "rainbow" twice in a row so many times...)

No, not really.

Using a different song would have helped, though.

But then it wouldn't be Under The Sky, and the point would be invalid. E13.gif

Murmur Twins yes, AA no. I actually like the cut to AA. Truthfully, the part that they cut is the one of the parts I didn't like, so that's probably why I'm okay with how they cut it. riiight.gif

I haven't heard the full versions of Tomorrow Perfume or Rainbow Rainbow, although now I want to...

I'll also add that Xepher was a pretty bad cut. Even though I thought it got trimmed pretty well, I still think it could have been better. I don't like the song either in its full version or its DDR edit, but the full version was so much better than its DDR counterpart that there probably could have been better cut decisions made.
