what would be causing these dance pad problems?

on supernova 2, my dance pad would fail me out everytime before i even took a step and would clear me on the fitness level. i wouldn't even be standing on the pad!!!!

on max 2, my dance pad would never let me get past the main menu. if i hit "play" it takes me to the main menu. if i hit fitness, it takes me back to the main menu. any option i select takes me back to the main menu.

do you think its wiring?? my playstation controller and my cheapo soft pad are working just fine on both games so i know its not the console or the games themselves. it has to be the dance pad but its confusing b/c the pad is responding to the game, just in the wrong way!

What kind of pad are you using? It might help if you mention what pad you're having problems with.

i had this problem with one of my pads. the solution is to use a PS2 controller in the menu and then once you have everything set up quickly switch the controller out of the slot and put the dance pad in.
