You should have said no and then played Paranoia Respect.

Or say no and do Max 300 SMMMO, then explain that you need the blood of the innocent to play, just to be random.

But I had to deal with some kid stomping and being an intentional annoying little brat. You know those kinds of people where you tell them to stop poking you, then they start rubbing their finger on you and when you tell them to stop they're like "You said stop poking you."? Well, this kid was like that, only he continued poking. I lost my combo and fell short on AAing PARANOiA Rebirth for the first time in my life. I got so mad and wanted to kick him, but realized it was just a game.

This is when you get in the face of the kid and yell something to the effect of "frick off". I stopped midsong to do that once (and didn't fail :o) and didn't see him ever again.
xD good for you I could never do anything like that I just don't have it in me. Or I do when someone does something that really makes my temper flare. My whole family is Italian and notorious for extremely long arguments and pointless screaming at each other. (you should have seen Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Christmas eve Oh...My...God.. sarc.gif ) I guess I'm one of the only people in my family that really didn't get the aggression gene lol. E9.gif

Haha. It sorta just happened on it's own, I was getting really pissed off and decided that it was better than punching him. It wasn't as satisfying, but since I didn't want to be thrown out (this was before that machine started to suck, so it was my favorite place to didder) I screamed, which got me in no trouble and solved the problem.

Working at the arcade i see it all, what makes me the most upset is when we get dump people that come in and mess the mats up. Little kids walkin and jump on the buttons, people wearing shoes that arent fitting for ddr (boots and I had a lady in heels play), and this kid got mad that he failed and kicked the mat as hard as he could and walked out) People are just dumb

So now I'm seeing an increase in idiots that step onto the side of the stage I'm not currently playing on--and generally making idiotic dance motions to impress their friends--while I am playing Expert Double. These idiots are 21 and over, and they should know better.

When I see that, I give them a warning of "you better move" while I am on one side of the stage, then I yell "move!" a second time as the arrows clearly show a transition to the other side, and they still stay there until I actually bump into them!

At that point, they step off and finally realize... duh, I'm playing all 8 arrows = both sides of the stage. As I had to turn away from them and slow down the stepping on the arrow to avoid hurting them when they got bumped, I lose about 2 to 3 arrows before I get back in rhythm with the songs.

I'm kind of surprised that hasn't happened to me yet, though it must be a great way to get people off the pad.

Some guy challenged me for $100. It was a bet and I supposedly had to show the money too. I didn't have such an amount and decided to play to show him what he was up against.

He left.

Another story!

I was about to take someone's record and some guy who ISN'T up to par with the score demanded his name (or was it team name) to be placed instead of someone else who obviously worked for the high score. I was like "Pfft, I can take that score.", so I tried. I was told not to. I was like "WTF? Nobody tells me not to take their score!" and so I play it stupid to pass the song but not take the score (though I could've done it regardless.

The next day I broke the record and almost AA'd (but tripped on the really recessed arrows). I plan on stepping that record up again just because.

Edit: By the way, before anyone says anything. If you have a record you don't want beaten, make a good one.

I've never seen that happen. Though I have seen players who were really full of themselves look at other players like he was superior to them. When it comes to those kinds of people it's fun to let them see you do badly on a light sonf, complain about how you do better on homepads, then do SMMMO.

I hate people that play barefoot. We dont want them stinking up the pads goog.gif
I don't like people that play without a shirt, though I have only seen this at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. And I hate these people that just walk right between you and the cabinet, cause youre trying to concentrate!
Lastly, I hate people that stomp on the pads, cause you want to save the pads from damage, and you dont have to stomp! I agree with Vro there, he is right E1.gif

Those self-absorbed, self-proclaimed masters who, while they really are good players, scoff at any AAA score done on Standard or easier.

Uhh...yeah...it doesn't matter what difficulty it's on, hitting every arrow perfectly is not an easy task...So let me be happy with my 7 Standard AAA's and leave me alone! I'll get some Heavy ones when I GET BETTER!!! frust.gif

-People who shadow without asking
-People who stomp on the other pad to try to mess you up
-When people walk right in in front of you between you and the screen without saying "Excuse me" or "Pardon me"
-Anything little kids do with the machine, because 99.99% of the time it's usually nothing good.

I'll have to say that's pretty understandable. Although I knew exactly one little kid (only one, mind you) who actually played DDR like the way you are supposed to play DDR. If they were all like that it wouldn't be a problem. (He'd go up, put his money in it, play his three songs without stomping or anything, then step off and let the next person play)

One time I was playing doubles and this guy hops on the 2P side pad and says something like "Oh cool dude. Thanks for paying for my game also." To which I replied something like "Get off the pad. I'm playing both pads." Him "Both pads?" Me "Yes" Him "Wow". Then he stepped off. He of course did this while I was playing a song, so it ruined my score on that first song but I at least passed it still.

One thing that is really starting to piss me off is preppy kids with their fucking Suckazombie and Twitch clothing jumping on the pad I'm not playing on and start stomping and flailing around like they think they're hot shiznit. I could just as easily make fun of you for playing air hockey/House of the Dead/Time Crisis/whatever other so called "cool kid" games. Unfortunately, since the arcade I usually go to is in a mall which is pretty much preppy central, I have to deal with stuff like that all the time.

Little kids trying to run through/play while you're on the machine.

People just sitting on the machine, not playing.

People who wait the entire amount of time to pick a song, even if they chose the song right away, and just want to let time run out

Stealing someone's cell phone E13.gif

I hate it when people hit the down arrow as a joke too. Where I live we have alot of "Hey we are sooooooo cool and popula! lets go bother that not so hip kid playin da ddr! " so the joke isn't even funny anymore it's just like some kind of trend to do to ddr players around where I live. lol

Last few people who tried hitting the down arrow for me ended up not only hitting the step perfectly for me, but also suffered a smashed foot when I stomped on it. E4.gif

People don't try that with me anymore. My footfalls are not heavy by any means, but when a 238-pound palooka smashes your foot with most of that weight, it's gonna hurt. riiight.gif

For anger thing, let's have a big round of boos for people who get so mad when they get a Great they stomp so hard on the panel that it....CRACKS?! disgust.gif
