Question guys with the TX whom have had arrows stop working
I was given a TX-2000 for free.. The bottom arrow doesn't work..... I haven't pulled it apart yet, but I wanna know what I can do.. I checked all of the sensors, and cleaned and checked the tape...and aluminum.. it's all fine... Checked for proper connection on the control box, still a faulty down arrow.
what can I check next to fix this? |

My back arrow has decided to stop working now. I cleaned the pads, removed the wires and touched them together and it seems like a problem with the wires. I tried to take the mat apart and well, it looks like its not user servicable. It's impossible to get the metal off because its all welded together. The top is thick wood, the boot thick wood. How are you meant to get into the thing to fix it?
Any ideas anyone? Please i really want this to work again |

my tx-2000 pad works great now, AAAs galore. AAs on 10s. its amazing what a little fix up of the wires can do. _________________

Yeah i think the dancepad will be okay if you dont weight a lot it sounds pretty dumb but its true _________________

Seriously guys, I don't know if I recieved a defective pad, but it broke within days. I'm a heavy player in the arcade who constantly recieves AA's and A's on everything I do (minus Max and Paranoia) and I am so disapointed with this. I've recieved Boo's and misses on exotic ethnic with this pad which I've never recieved in the arcade. Even on 7 footers like Look to the Sky which I recieve less than 10 greats on in the arcade I get boos and misses with this pad. I still have a triplet problem AND I have a version 3.
If you are going to save up to buy a pad, just buy a Cobalt Flux. |
Ok so what I'm left with is a bunch of european (UK, mostly) forums where everybody claims his TX2000 is still flawless after months of play, and some USA forums where so many people are talking about triplets and pads broken into pieces after a few days. Oh, and of course people play 9 and 10 footers even in Europe.
I'm starting to suspect there *must* be something to do with the origins of these pads. Everybody in Europe buys them from play-asia, or from lik-sang in some cases, while I understand the primary source of these pads in USA is ebay. This difference is the only explanation I can find for such a huge discrepancy in quality.
Btw, if you buy a metal pad in Europe you will pay about 200$ for a TX2000 with a full set of replacement arrows, and more than 500$ for a CF. For that price, I think I'm willing to take the risk.
I'll let you know how it ends up. | The thing about USA TX-6000 are that people buy them from ebay. Ebay is a website where they can do anything to your item. Im about to buy on Fitnessandkids.com and im ready just in case it breaks. DUCK TAPE _________________

sdeardre, is the TX-6000 this weird v.3 or v.4 or whatever? Cause that pad is also known as the Blade, the one above it on that site is also known as the ninja (I think?) ... If you're going to pay the price for the 6000, why not save up a little more and get something like a CF (what I'm saving for!). I know, no bar. BUT the bars on most of these home pads are notorious for being really flimsy and basically not worth the extra.
They do have what they're calling a TX-2000 on that site. Which is what everyone's talking about here - the 2000. What I didn't see on that site are accessories - replacement arrows, control boxes, things you might really need.
And they don't tell you how they're made inside. Is it foil or sheet metal (doubtful) contacts?
Also, please note that alot of what's on fleabay - the sellers are the same people who have sites. They're simply resellers. None of them actually manufacture any of these pads, so there's a chance most of them are coming from the same place (probably a sweatshop somewhere in China). _________________

Very true ... especially here in the US. But note where dstrukt0 is from. The UK, so probably they got one of the good EU versions.
I just can't understand WHY the EU seems to have gotten at least decent if not good 2000's and the US (regardless of where they're bought), most of them are utter garbage.
And I don't think Mayflash sells to the general public. They seem to be distributors for OEM/ODM. At least that's what it seems like? no CC accepted and don't want to think about the shipping from Hong Kong to the US. _________________

What's really sad IMO is that using sheet metal instead of foil would only cost them $1 more per pad.
A DOLLAR and they still don't do it.
