there's a program that can alter the metadata in the ogg and make the machine think its only 1:40 (i can't remember where to get it), but if the machine is r23 it cuts off after 2 minutes regardless so you're screwed _________________

I downloaded it, and when I tried to open it, a window pops up for less than a second, and then disappears. So basically, nothing happens, no windows are open or anything.
Anybody have a better link? _________________

It's probably a DOS application...hence why it would close on you since you didn't give it any input...
EDIT:
Yes it is.
D:\>OggLengthPatch.exe
Usage OggLengthPatch <filename.ogg>

Also, can't you just make it into an icon and drag your ogg file onto it? _________________

lol, that is the correct application!
First, put the .exe file somewhere you can see it on your screen...for example, "my documents." Next, IN ANOTHER WINDOW, go to the .OGG file you want to patch. Click and drag the .ogg file over to the OggLengthPatch.exe, and "drop" the .ogg on it. A black screen should flash for a split second. Done! The .ogg is now patched! _________________

yes individual songs.
For example I have it sitting on the bottom righthand corner of my desktop. Whenever I have an ogg over 1:50 i patch it just in case. You just drag the OGG onto the patcher... black screen flashes for a half a second and you're done. |

Correct.
Note that if you are editing the steps of a song with a patched .ogg in SM, if you try to preview the song starting after 1:45 (I think it's 1:45; if not, it's somewhere close to it), no music will play. |

Gosh, I could've sworn I played a song that was 143 seconds long on my local r23 machine the other day... Either I'm just plain mistaken or people are unaware that r23 plays patched files up to ~2:25 in length!
(hint: it's the latter) |
