I normally play DDR Extreme at either the movies or the mall near me, but i just realized that there's an itg 2 machine about 50 minutes away and i'm probably gonna go check it out and play for a few hours tomorrow.
anyway, i've heard the stepcharts are a lot different, like step rating wise, and was wondering if anyone had some song/difficulty suggetions.
for an idea of my playing, here's my very lazily updated recall:
http://ddr.ddrecall.com/user.php?mode=viewprofile&user=4883
not many songs on it, but i'm too lazy to add everything. |

Up to 10-footers the only real difference is that on ITG there are some harder 9s and easier 10s than those of the same rating on DDR to accommodate for the huge difficulty lapse found between 9s and 10s on DDR. As far as I'm aware, the 1-10 scale is pretty much the same other than that. _________________

That's basically right. Also, as a whole, Expert 9s seem to be slightly harder than Hard 9s (They seemed a bit harder on the whole than DDR 9s as well, but that could've been any number of things, including my overall lack of familiarity with them at first). But yeah, basically just take a look at the step stats before you pick a song (To make sure you don't overwhelm yourself with hands when you're not expecting it, for instance) and you should be fine. The system isn't perfect, but it's a good guideline for what to expect in a given song.
That said, some of my favorite songs in the game (Generally on Hard difficulty) are Infection, Bubble Dancer, The Game, Spacy Crazy Girl, Tell, Life of a Butterfly and Sweet World. Some are harder than others, but expect maybe for Tell, you should be able to handle all of them if your Recall is any indication. _________________

actually, even the 7's are harder than DDR 7's. most 7's have steps similar to Highs off you, which is considered a high end 7. (SuperNOVA 7's seem to have gotten harder though.)
anyway, my guess is that you like playing 9's (judging by your recall)
i'd say to do the 9's on Medium.
Pandemonium medium is rather draining, but is still easy
Energizer medium would probably be a high end 9 on DDR, these steps are fun and challenging.
stay away from:
anything 10 or above other than D-code, Remember December, and Hybrid ex. (Maybe Vertex hard)
Xuxa hard
tell hard (maybe)
Monolith hard (unless you are really good a HVAM)
Disconnected Disco ex.
try:
We Know what to do expert (it has triplets!)
Hardcore symphony hard
Disconnected ex. (watch out, drills at 200)
Bend your mind medium/hard (lots of hands)
Robotix hard (roll)
it might help to look at some stepcharts over at ITGFreak.
also, don't be afraid to try a random 10, just be sure to do it as the last song.
PM me if you want more suggestions _________________

xuxa hard is incredibly easy
tell hard is too
disconnected disco isn't a difficult 9
remember december is not one of the easiest 10s, by far
do not try disconnected expert _________________

i know, but based on his recall, i don't think he can handle them.

Do not try disconnected expert | i've always found Remember December to be one of the easiest 10's (at least on ITG1), so maybe that's just me.
i passed Disconnected ex. on a sightread my first time playing ITG, and i was pretty much at the same level as Tenchi50. _________________

there are none, but there isn't much like Xuxa either.
in my mind, disconnected is easier than Xuxa hard. that's just my opinion, please respect it.
i haven't played Tell in awhile, so maybe i'm just remembering it harder than it is.
Disconnected disco has complex patterns and wierd stops, making it an annoyingly hard sightread.
i never said Remember December was easier than the others. Quote: | stay away from:
anything 10 or above other than D-code, Remember December, and Hybrid ex. (Maybe Vertex hard) | here, i was simply implying that if he decided to try a 10, he should try one of those as opposed to choosing something like Disconnected Hyper or Tension and not knowing what to expect. And i admit i could've worded that differently. _________________

glad you're gonna try itg. I'll be amazed if you don't like it. Try alot of nines, cause most are good. You could probably do some easy tens like queen of light and such... Just explore the game _________________

QOL is a beast of a 10 if you havn't gotten used to basic hands yet lol
I passed pandy hard and expert before most of the 10's...11's and 12's(just because it was like my....5th round of ITG ever.) because a lot of the 10's are very tech related...the 11's aren't so much and the 12's...some are some aren't... if you aren't comfortable with the 10's on DDR avoid the 10+'s on ITG for the first few rounds at least...and try and play with someone(so you don't waste your money) |
