Curious, from anybody that's gotten one of these to WORK:
Has any Nonstop/Long/Marathon stages been supported, that you're aware of, like those in 5th Mix/Solo 2000? Thanks in advance. |

Well, followed the instructions on the OpenGroove tutorial to a tee. And to no avail, as my SwapMagic 3.6 loads it to an "Not Valid PS2 Disc" error.
Curious, could changing "AdditionalSongsFolder=" to the disc root perhaps enable off-the-root SongFolders, ala R21/Flash Drive? Then you could just "add song folders" to the typical ITG setup, and there's your custom mix.
All else fails, it may be able to load PAK files from the root, and lower these enormous loading times by adding multiple, smaller PAK's to the root (IE: The subfolders -below- songs, each), instead of a single, gigantic one.
It's obvious that ITG can load these, because they use 3-4 PAKs for their songfiles... probably for "Default songs", "Unlockable Songs", "ITG 2 Preview songs" (possibly licensed tracks within a fourth...). |

At this point, I have no idea if it would actually work, but it would be fun to try.
BTW, it would be better to use AdditionalFolders= and include cache too.

I can remember having a PCK inside a directory in ITG PC and it crashed because it wasn't indexed (it was beta1 btw).

I believe there are 3 song PCKs, with titles like default sng1, default sng2, default sng3. |

I've successfully made my own custom ITG ISO (and it works), but can someone help me out with syncing? The BoxoRRoXoR packs recommend +15ms in ITG's settings, Azelay's ITG H4CK3D 2.0 recommend +30ms timing, and the regular ITG game works fine for me at +0ms.
I've tried all the sims in StepMania 4.0 CVS, and the BoXorRRoXor ones sync perfectly with it, while the H4CK3D files are definitely about +25ms or so. When I play the sims on pad I can still score decently, but I definitely notice my FA go down.
I've considered resyncing Azelay's sims from their +30ms to Team OpenGroove's +15, but it seems rather tedious. Considering what an excellent job Azelay seems to be doing modifying ITG, I'm not sure why his sims are set ahead time wise. |

As a continuation of a post made by someone on pg 10, has anyone gotten themes/noteskins to work on ITGPS2? I'm trying to make this look like an official DDR mix as I can. _________________

Noteskins work ok but sometimes look weird
Themes don't work without a LOT of work
if you want to develop a theme or noteskin for the game, grab the stepmania 4-20-2005 cvs build from the stepmania cvs and you can use ps2 themes and such on that build. the only things that i hate about ps2 theming is resizing and packing are a lot of work |

Don't follow what someone else on the internet tells you to do, put it at whatever you feel best playing with. |

Quote: | 21. This next step is pretty much up to you. All you need to do now is pick your favorite
cd/dvd burning software and burn the ISO. I personally recommend "Nero Burning ROM", but
the choice is yours. I do not recommend burning any faster than 8x though or there is a
potential for the burn to not work correctly.
22. Now that you have your DVD all you need to do is play :-). As per how you get your burned
disk to work in a PlayStation 2 machine, I'll leave that up to your own devices.
23. Have Fun! |
tried that, didnt work every thing else in there was great, its what i used to set it up and make the iso.
i get the red boarder on swap magic when i try it, which means it didnt burn correctly, right? what settings do i need to use when burning? |

well, i tried again, did everything from scratch, and it still didnt work. i even made this one just 1 gig big as a test run so to speak, but i dont know what i'm doing wrong.
the only thing that i can think of, is that i just realized this last burn that i'm using DVDRWs, do they work for ps2 games? i know they didnt on dreamcast.
but this thing wont even boot in an emulator, so something isnt packing right, or maybe something didnt rip right?
if i'm following the directions exactly like it says and its not working, i'm lead to believe i'm burning on the wrong settings, because i know psx and dc games had to be burned a certain way, not just this "load up your dvd burning program and burn" stuff that everyone says to do. |

well, the settings shouldn't matter that much
but if it doesn't work in emulator, then something is getting packed wrong
are you packing from the root of your drive? |

D: that should have fixed it
with the way the pck packer works, it HAS to be from the root of the drive or you'll end up with a pck that has files packed in Documents and Settings/Kalek/Desktop/ITG Files/Songs/In The Groove 2/Birdie/Birdie.sm and etc
