Most of us have seen Konami's "Music In Every Direction" website dedicated to its music games. It appears as though they've recently given the site a makeover. The updated site includes a "community" section where users can upload videos and comment on other users.
The individual game pages have also been updated, including the Beatmania page! Hopefully this means that Konami is not abandoning the series in America.
Hopefully this site will continue to develop and (potentially) include more features for gamers as a main hub for Konami's music games. But for now it seems to be a good place to find wallpapers and get the latest [official] news from Konami. |

It's doubtable that they're going to abandon IICX in the US, especially since IIDX Gold is getting a US version.

Only if Konami receives enough orders for beatmaniaIIDX GOLD, which so far hasn't happened and isn't anywhere near happening. So get out there and bother your arcade about it.
Nice to see the site updated since... a really long time, though it still hasn't been touched since 2006. There isn't much to put there, I guess, but hopefully they'll update it more as we get to the BEMANI release time of year. SuperNOVA's PS2 site kind of rotted away without ever filling the Staff Comment or Secret sections; hope they pay a bit more attention to Music In Every Direction now.

theres no way im asking my arcade to blow $20,000 on an IIDX machine when they wont even upgrade there PIU PREX3 machine to NX....and that costs all of $2000.

They might be willing to invest in a new machine. If they don't make much money off of PREX3 they won't upgrade to NX, but a new and different game altogether has potential at the least.
And is this update old? I know most of the game content is the same (although the site looks nicer). But I was under the impression that this overhaul was done in the past few weeks. Someone please tell me if I'm wrong.
Also, I'm hoping that player ranking will end up being done through this site and such like that. An all encompassing Bemani thing like that would be nice and really boost the community. I also think its good that Beatmania is listed there with DDR and Karaoke Revolution. It might give it some more awareness from fans of the other games who don't go on sites like these. |

or maybe PIU didnt do well because PREX3 is the worst frick mix ever? seriousely, i liked it better when they had the premiere 1.
but enough of my rant, i honestly dont think a $20,000 IIDX machine is a good idea. hell, its a very dumb idea. IIDX isn't a popular game. im sorry. i love IIDX, but the learning curve is simply to steep for any average joe to go and have a good time. unless your arcade is full of music game fans, the IIDX GOLD is probably one of the dumbest purchases ever.

Well, it hasn't been updated since late 2006, unless you count the community, which I don't really keep track of. But there hasn't been much to report since the release of Universe; perhaps some Hottest Party information soon, but that's still a few months off.
