I don't know how handy you are, but the Cobalt Flux is the easiest to fix yourself in case something does go wrong. Sensitivity issues that people are complaining about are easily remedied, as the way the pad works is simple electrical theory. The pad, which is metal, and the panels, also metal, complete the circuit when they touch which registers a pad hit. When this doesn't happen, it's usually because there's something stuck in the pad that's keeping it from making contact, like dirt or something. Otherwise, its a control box issue, and if you know how to solder it's quite easy to fix that too. I don't know about any other pads, but the cobalt flux is quite genius in its simplicity. Once you take it apart and figure out how it works, you'll kick yourself for not just making one yourself because it's so simple. I ordered both my pads off of Ebay a little over a year ago, and they still work flawlessly. Just make sure you build an enclosure for them, because they have a tendency to crack on carpet. In addition, the added weight of the enclosure will keep them from sliding around. Have fun!

Pretty much any pad that weighs under 100 lbs will crack on carpet unless it's made with a base and core that will flex. I think Cherry wood is fairly flexible, and I know yew is. (Yew is the wood most commonly used in wooden bows, if I recall correctly)
If you can find some good yew boards and secure them together, you have a good all-purpose base; if you can find a way to swap this with whatever's in your current pad, it should be fine on carpet, although getting a 3/4"x4'x4' fir plywood board and just putting your pad on top of it is admittedly far cheaper and easier.

Recently, when I stand on the upper part of the central arrow its been saying I'm hitting up. Though this doesn't cause too much problems, its annoying when I try to stand on the middle panel during mine-streaks etc. Also, my green solo arrows are largely non responsive.
I'm almost positive its because my friend used my pad (against my will) with dirty shoes on and got sand underneath the sensors.
I was taking it apart so I could easily get all the sand out, and I found the sheet-metal part of the sensor to be firmly attached to the pad by glue or something of the sort.
So if I take it off, what would be the best way to reattach it firmly, and what will happen it I don't?

I was still considering a Cobalt Flux for awhile, but I'm not for sure after all these long delays. I probably still going to go the BlueShark route, since the delays with various parts is a bit of a turn off. Also, I've heard that in late November/Early this year, they were backordered on some parts, and that is when they assembled the crappy mats. Anyway, I've tried looking for a few other places for Flux's (besides the main site), and haven't come up with anything. So I was wondering if there was a trustworthy site that stocks the old Fluxes? If I decide to go with the Flux from the official site, I might wait until the summer to order mine, though I was hoping to have it before my birthday (2 weeks away).

I ordered mine the 21st of march.

I called on the 26th, and they said I would receive my flux in one month.

13 days till that date.

I was told I'm getting it the first week of May. I ordered April 8th. I don't care how long it takes, as long as I get a good, well built pad

HI,

Due to unexpected delays with a component vendor, on-order Platforms will be shipping by the first week of May. We're working to receive parts as quickly as possible and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any further questions feel free to ask!

Thank you for all your understanding!

I don't understand >:-(

I see they sent everyone those emails(including me).

But the whole "Due to unexpected delays with a component vendor"
doenst really inspire confidence.

Also. Can a cobalt flux owner tell me if there are any screws protruding from the edges of each side? Or are the sides flat?

Im working on a bas mod right now :]

Ordered mine back in the Second Week of Feb. (I still don't beleive after 2 months I have not spent the money I have allocated for them.)

I'll give them until the second week of May (Which would be 3 months) I'll just cancel the order and build my own. At least that will be quicker. At a guess they are about 200+ orders behind. By compairing order numbers. (Mines like a low 10400)

Wow. Thats wayyyy behind. Im order 10570.

At least 150 probably. Well, that gives me plenty of time to build my base mod.

I sent a money order on the 10th, and it hasn't been received yet (according to customer service). Is it time to start worrying?

Although with the nor easter in the NE and everything, I think that I should give it another week or so.

How are Cobalt Flux's arrows in comparison to a DDR arcade machine? I personally hate DRR acarde machines because of how small the arrows are. Plus, but lowering the arrows, my feet trip me up when playing.

The only pads in the world with noticeably bigger arrows than an arcade machine's would be custom DTG pads made to a specific size and homebrews. A CF is standard size. (11" panels)

Hello, I have one of the older cobalt fluxes (from 2005) and its been working perfectly. But now all of the sudden its starting to give me random pad misses. Iv tried cleaning it twice but that didnt help at all. So, if anyone has any tips on making it work please post! This has made it virtually impossible to do Oni's!

It could be the control box. If you have a friend with a working flux, try swaping control boxes and see if that clears it up.

What are the life (lives?) on Cobalt Flux's?

I've been reading around and it's typically around 2 years, but is that with constant use? (9-12 footers pretty much everyday?)

I'm thinking about buying a used one, but I'm not sure. (Obviously how long it's been used, how often, and how hard it is used all factor in)

In other words, under what settings would it take a CF to degenerate into this "2 year" time window I've been reading about? (Where arrows dont respond as well)
