Okay, say you won the lottery. If you won $17,000 as a lump sum, would you buy a brand new Dance Dance Revolution Supernova arcade machine, or would you spend it on something else?
Personally, I would buy a DDR Supernova, but that's just me. |

I'd rather buy a 5th Mix, then blow the other $11,000 or so on quarters to play someone else's SuperNOVA. _________________

I'd rather get an ITG 2 dedicab or a Pump NX. But if it HAD to be DDR, it'd be an Extreme. _________________

I would buy one for everybody to play on, and then a pair of Bluesharks to go with StepMania for private use. _________________

You could invest what you have left of the $17,000 in the stock market and hope your share goes up. _________________

Hell no. If I spent any on DDR, it would be on a pair of Bluesharks and a dedicated StepMania rig. Better yet, a full blown MAME cabinet with SM on the same computer. _________________

I'd buy an old 3rd mix cabinet, then get a SN marquee, hook the cabinet up to SM, and get new pads, and get Takuya's DDRSN theme. Or I'd get 2 bluesharks and a new video card. 300+ songs on SN can't beat my 1500+ songs on SM! |

If you were going to use it to make money with as well, then yes, buy it. You'd better live in a location that gets lots of traffic so you could make your money back on it though. You also probably would need to have a location in some sort of commercially zoned area or something, legally, I think. You'd also need a way to get the word out there is a machine at your location. It still seems that would take an awful lot of play to make back your cash fund though, and you better hope the machine doesn't need repairing/etc or that is more cash out.
If it is for personal use then no, unless you are just stinking rich and can afford anything you like in which case, why not? _________________

It might actually be more likely to need repair if more people play on it. Makes for quite a conundrum. _________________

I'd probably use it for a car. Cause I fricking need one.
But if I had to choose a dance game I'd probably get a ITG2 dedicab and then load over 9000 songs onto it. Then rent it out and buy a Pump NX machine. _________________

<Krillin>WHAT!? NINE THOUSAND?! There's no way that can be right!</Krillin>
...
On a more serious note, like some other in this thread, I have bigger priorities at the moment than buying a DDR machine should I somehow win a $17,000 lottery (Though if I were to buy a DDR, it'd probably be an Extreme). Paying off college loans is probably the big one (Sup $20K debt). _________________
