In which case I'd build a Stepmania cabinet. _________________

I love the arcade, don't get me wrong.
I love the arcade but, how many quarters ?
I bought the metal dance pad, and DDR U, 1, 2, 3, & 4.
I have a larger music library and I can play for hrs for
a few dolars. _________________

yeah but I mean, if you calculate the expenses :
Xbox : $150
DDR U : $20
DDR U 2 : $30
DDR U 3 : $40
DDR U 4 : $40
Metal Dance Pad : $150
Total $430 + tax
If you play EVERY DAY, in the weekdays (about 260 days) :
thas comes out to about $1.65 a day, or about three rounds in the arcade.
I admit my calculations were pretty of but if you play only TWICE a week:
it comes out to about $4 a play.
jus my 2 cents _________________

There are really pros and cons for both. If you play at home on an ignition or metal pad, the gameplay can be just as good as the arcade and you can play all you want for free (if you don't count the expenses for the pads). At the arcade though, you have bystanders that watch you in awe and there's really nothing like the true arcade experience. However, sometimes the arcades don't really take care of their pads which can be a problem, and there can be other annoyances.
Taking all of this into effect, I'd say it really just depends on the person. Personally, I think that the arcade experience is better. |

There's also the fact that console versions' timing windows are larger. I wouldn't want to get used to that timing, since arcade is pretty much what matters. _________________

Is this how much it cost you to build your own? I'm just asking because, unless you know something that I don't, there is no decent metal dance pad on the market for anywhere near that cheap. |

I play at both my home and the arcade. I have a metal pad, and I play at home usually for training. I just play for long periods of time to build my stamina/endurance. Then, when I actually go to the arcade, I play to score. It works out |

Mainly I just play at home because I dont go to the arcade that often and my Flux pad is WAY more sensitive than the pads at my arcade. _________________

Allow me to attempt to sum up this topic.
People who can afford Fluxs (people with jobs) --> Home
People who can't (bums) --> Arcade
I'm a bum personally. I just scrape up whatever change I have on me and go play for however long I can.
But there. That's it. No one is going to say "I love my $15 softpad it works so well I've had it for 3 years and I love home version songs so much better." _________________
