Hi everyone,

I was wondering, what's the easiest and most effective way to attach two foam-insert pads for doubles play? I've used duct tape in the past (but this has torn off some of the foam surface on the edge of the bottom on one of the pads frown.gif ) and I've used Velcro but it didn't stay together very well. Plus I don't want to cover up the zipper part of the pad in case I need to take out the foam insert(s) for some reason.

What's the best way to go about doing this, then?

Thanks!

edit I just noticed that I missed this article: http://www.ddrfreak.com/library/contributor-article.php?postID=8681568

Has anyone tried this? how effective is it?

Heh, odd coincidence. I wrote that guide, and it just went up a week ago. You can see it being used for 9-footers in the two video links toward the end (or just click on the link in my sig).

I've been using that method for about 3 months now, and I swear by it. Do try your best to make sure each pin makes three penetrations though, for best results.

Let me know if you're having trouble following the guide or any way I can improve it.

Hey, will this work with two mats (softpads, not foampads). Currently, i am playing on doubles rather stupidly with a 2 inch thick woodpad anf a quarter inch softpad. they move like crazy 9the softpad). I plan to get another (its a ps2 and gamecube opne... yay) to play doubles and the wii and the ps2. will it work, assuming there is a way to make sure the blanket pins dont come apart and punture my foot.

First of all, a lot of people like to use the question mark: "?" E15.gif

I had talked to Yeehaw McKickass before submitting about mentioning softpads. I didn't think this method is suited for mats because, even if you don't mind the risk of stepping on a pin, notice: when you push the pads *toward* each other, the pins still allow the mat to lift up in the center, or bunch together. (This isn't a problem with the foam pad because the foam is "stiff in compression" as well.) Also, I'm not sure if it has a usable hem.

Still, I haven't tried this before, so if you can get it to work reasonably, I'd like to know. E1.gif
