On the name of some songs, mostly on Extreme-SuperNOVa, I see some bizzare signs in between, or next to words. For example: ♥LOVE2 SUGAR♥, PEACE(^^)v, LOVE ♥ SHINE, CANDY♥, and Sweet Sweet ♥ Magic. It seems like something weird the Japanese creators would throw in, but can somebody please explain to me why the hek they add those signs, and what they mean?

In some cases, the ♥ means "Love". Sweet Sweet ♥ Magic is pronounced as "Sweet Sweet Love Magic", for example, and I've heard some people argue that Love ♥ Shine is pronounced "Love Love Shine". There's also I ♥ N.Y. for "I love New York". Not sure about Candy♥ or ♥Love^2 Sugar♥, though. As for "PEACE (^^)v" I'm assuming you're wondering what the "(^^)v" means? That's a Japanese emoticon. "(^^)" is a happy face, just the eyes, no mouth. you can also make one with an underscore or a period for a mouth, like this:(^.^). It's kinda like this emoticon on DDRFreak: happy.gif Anyway, that's the face, the "v" is giving the peace sign (or V for Victory), with your middle and index finger extended and your ring, pinky, and thumb closed together. It's a very popular pose in Japan, especially for photographs.

Oh yeah, and "azn" is a shortened, slang way to spell the word "Asian". =P

Thank you!!! That's exactly what I wanted to know! I still find it weird how they put the heart instead of just saying "love" though. I had never looked at "PEACE (^^)v" as being a person holding up the piece sign - that's cool!

Hardly anyone immediately understood what that means.

You'll also notice semi-random english words in pretty much all J-pop. It's just how it is.

Japanese singers like to use English words because it sounds cool.

What's to understand? Symbols look good. There's no deep reason behind them.

Peace (^^)v has an emoticon, and the exponent represents the repetition of the word love in Love Love Sugar. But those are about the only things that have any not-completely-obvious meaning.

But in an American song, they NEVER say any words in Japanese. Also, in anime, there's no Asian people in them - that's probably how they see Americans - with big eyes, and big, nice, juicy breasts. laugh.gif

The Western world has its fair share of Japanophiles as well. If you play an MMO, there are numerous people with IGNs that mean something in some Asian language.

Maybe not in songs, but think of the amount of people who get tattoos of kanji without really having any idea about what it means.
