Is there any mods you can do to up the sensitivity? My pads arent old or anything, but buttons are starting to get real picky about where the contact points are... pretty much only in the center of each button and even then it requires a nice amount of force to activate some. I took apart my CF's last night and noticed the metal sheets are getting dirty, what would you guys recommend to clean them with?

Also i've been looking at the arcade style mod kit. Does anyone know how much it raises the buttons, measurement wise?

Subject: Cobalt Flux Order!
Date: Wed, 14 Mar 2007 15:17:09 -0700

Hi Torin,

We have a delay with our shipments right now. We are waiting on an order of controllers to come in. Your order will be going out towards the end of this month.

If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Thank you for your understanding!

Cobalt Flux

Looks like it's gonna take longer than I thought. I ordered it on March 4th.

Yay, I sent Cobalt Flux one firm angry long email, and "Ivory" called me. She sounds like a 20 year old whore, I swear to god - I'm not even joking. But I'm going to deal with her and she if she can send me a new pad because the one I have now clearly sucks.

Here's a question. I'm working on better-than-new-ifying my pad (shut up, that's a real word), but the one catch so far is that the plast coverings are pretty dirty. They're stained pretty significantly with dirt (not so bad you can't see through them, but rather they're sort of a translucent brown around the edges. Now, I'm going to remove them and give 'em a good scrubdown of course, but what cleanser would you recommend most in terms of sheer cleaning power (don't worry about the electronics; I'm going to let them dry before putting them back on the pad)?

Is the arcade mod for the cobalt flux high like on a ddr pad or are they lower like on an itg machine?

I'd say let each one soak for 45 minutes in a tub of water, windex, bleach, and dishwashing detergent. One of the three should wind up working. E15.gif

I've never tried to really clean plastic or glass, but that's pretty similar to how I clean most stuff, so why not a bunch of lexan panels?

If you really want to get it looking new, you could spend several hours on it with some Brasso, following the same concept as this guide: http://todd.dailey.info/archives/2005/09/27/restore-your-ipod-nano-to-new-condition-with-a-4-can-of-brasso/

Also, I think soaking in bleach could substantially weaken the plastic.

Whoops, I forgot to include my, "get confirmation that this won't destroy your stuff before trying this" disclaimer. xP

What sort of effects does bleach have on plastic though? Would it really weaken it?

Thank you both for your help. I'll get some pictures of it when I'm finished with the renovation (it could take awhile, though). I appreciate it!

Holy crap I can't believe my account is still active...

Anyways, is CobaltFlux planning on making an Xbox 360 adapter for the CF pads? Or do I have to buy a converter? If I have to buy a converter, what converter will work best with the CF pads?

Oh, haha. Don't expect it to feel like an ITG machine at all. I can pass 12's at the arcade, but I can't pass 11's with my arcade mod on. (But I could without it...) So yeah - it's kind of like a DDR Extreme machine...basically I guess.

You mean Afterburner? E15.gif

Seriously, an Extreme machine is, like, a little over 1/8".
Those arcade mod panels are about 1/4", right?

I just measured my arcade mod...
The extra lexan panels add just about 1/8" to the center and corners. The brackets, of course, are slightly higher - about 3/16" measured from the arrow panel to the top of the bracket. In terms of how much the non-arrow panels are raised, Extreme machines feel higher than CFs, and ITG2 machines feel about the same. But of course, we won't know for sure unless someone measures them.

Something just occured to me: if you suck with the arcade mod, couldn't you just remove the brackets?

Ah, okay.

I know an ITG2 Dedicab is less than 1/8". That's the whole reason why I was so disoriented when I first played on one. I'd wind up hitting the panels 3/32" early. E15.gif

Yeah, that would be the logical thing to do.

It's towards the end of this month, right around the time the email said they would be shipping the Cobalt Flux. Still no Flux, still no tracking number, and no more emails. WTF is going on? I ordered it on 3/4/07.
