Mmhmm - it's actually referred to as "doubles" or "dual-playing". I use it for songs like Blur because the jacks are seriously extremely hard to do on spread and nearly impossible on index. Plus, get used to it, and songs like Jack will be incredibly easy to MA for you. |

Because most people don't think to use more than 4 fingers...or even use letter or number keys.

Yes, I am wierd. I cannot play normal spread due to a tendency to actually hit up on an up arrow.
My setup - 4 fingers, 6 keys.
Left hand - s,d,e (left, down, up)
Right hand - l,k,i (right, down up)
Meh, it works for me.

Lol, you have to. On hard double edits that actually involve two different patterns on each "pad/side" you basically have to. Not many people play doubles on SM anyway, but if you want to play harder doubles stuff like Vanish Into Thin Air you have to play that way basically. |

If I played spread I'd be using 4 fingers, one for each arrow. I could probably do it if I just practiced a bit, but I'm decent with the way I play now. I've near-full combo'd Vertex Beta and Illumination of the Sky, so speed isn't a real issue for me.

Go for it w/ spread, I find it much easier than index if thats what you're playing now
And recently, i've been anylizing the way I play, and I actually play
2 fingers
wasd
3 fingers
ijkl
the 3rd finger I actually rarely use when I can't get to the left arrow key with my left hand
for some reason I never actually use that 3rd finger on wasd

Is it really harder? I mean with spread it's not, I picked it up much faster than back then I started to try index |
