Disuctions, disscutions, man, your typos get you bonus points. xD
Speaking of speed-whoring, I've been bored at school lately, so I've been laying out a concept for a flight simulator. How does this relate to speed whoring? Well, unlike other flight sims, where the speed gauge says you're going at 155623461 km/h but it looks more like you're moving at about 60 km/h, this one is about 70% reflex, 20% strategy, 5% precision aiming, and 5% mathematical judgment of how much of your shielding you can afford to sacrifice at any given moment. The reason? You're piloting a mech with speed capabilities that aren't even usable within the Earth's atmosphere. At the beginning of the game, your craft will have a maximum speed preset to it that you will be unable to go above. As the game progresses and your reflexes quicken, it'll go up. If any of you remember that podracing game for the n64, try playing that 8x as fast and you'll have an idea of what this game will be like. More details later. I'm not putting a tonr of time into this just yet, but I'll work more on it when it gets higher up on my priority list. _________________

Dude... i'm sorry if i don't meet whatever expectations you have, but why the hell are you flaming me for congratulating people? I never said 9's were uber-hard...
'nuff said.
Will you be able to post blueprints soon now that you are almost done with the prototype? I won't be able to get started for at least a week though since some poopy just hit the fan at my house and i'm moving this weekend.
I managed to make a 1/12 scale lexan model of that dremel etching i told you about. Stupid camera won't focus on it though so i don't have pics...
Maybe you should consider adding another model targeted at the 150-200 price range??? i noticed that the price gap between the dt610 and the dt200 was pretty big ($90 and $250). Maybe a dt200 without the concrete, or a dt610 with a sensor/panel upgrade... _________________

The concrete actually costs a grand total of $2 per pad.
It's basically dirt and rock. It's not really refined like all the other components. That's one of the reasons I'm using it over a solid 1/2" steel plate, which would be much stronger but horribly expensive.
The DT600 Deluxe fills in the price gap pretty well at $120/$165 (the latter with a bar).
For something in the $200 area, an anti-pimped DT200 should tie the knot.
And with customisations, we can hit just about any price with a $25 give or take. Obviously, we'd be hard-pressed to build a pad for someone on a $30,000 budget, or a $30 budget, but with customs, it's actually perfectly possible to give us a price and let us build the best pad we can for that price.
Yes, I'll have basic blueprints of the DT200 up soon (they're still at my mom's), and I'll try to get a more detailed blueprint finished over the course of the week.
EDIT:
I figured out how to do the wiring on the DT600's. I'll have some time to work on it tomorrow and Wednesday. Hopefully I'll be able to get working on the first 2 orders before the week is out, but, you know me, so don't get your hopes up. _________________

Not quite. He flamed you for baiting with "satanic bar of n00bness," as only semi-serious as that might seem considering the language used.
Bar use flaming can end right now.
Continue thread. |

When do you plan on having the final pads done? I've been watching the thread since January because I want to get a pad this summer but I'm just kinda curious if they will be done by then. |

If I don't have the DT500's up by the beginning of August, I'll make them for flat material cost for a month following prototype release. The DT200's should be up in April or late this month.
I spent about 70 minutes working on a detailed 8.5"x21" exploded view of the DT200 today. Give me another 120 minutes and I should have it done. _________________

on another random note, you'll need to put a rebar grid in the concrete or it will turn back into rocks and dirt a lot faster than you'd think... in any case there must be a better way to stop a pad from moving than putting 90lbs of concrete in it... _________________

Shouldn't be a problem, but would you know how many ought to be used for a 1"x39"x33" slab?
I think it should be closer to about 60 lbs, but the idea is that weight is the only thing that works on concrete, wood, AND carpet floors. Industrial velcro works great on carpet, rubber works great on wood, and anything works on concrete. 150lbs of solid pad shouldn't slide much at all on any flat surface. _________________

I've been gone too long, just re-read the whole topic and some new comments/questions/statements.
1. I can test pads well, I weigh 250 (which is a bit below your maximum weight) and play 9s and 10s bar or no bar, so if it can take me it should be good. ^.^
2. Just a reminder since everyone forgot, what is DTG members?
3. I'd like to be put down for a doubles set of DT610s custom with bars, light blue LEDs and duct-tape grips (for the bars), how much would that run me with shipping included? (Oh, and a doubles bracket would be nice too...)
BUT, I won't have the cash for it until...let's say sometime mid-summer depending on if I get my job or not, and how many hours I work, is that alright? ^.^
I'd distribute pads too, but I'm not sure because of the shipping costs...we'll see. _________________

I dont really know anything about specifics, but my Lowes sells a premade 4'x8' rebar grid sheet in the building supplies aisle... it's made of of fairly thin rods, so you should be able to cut out a 33"x33" piece with a hacksaw or jigsaw or dremel fairly easily. Not sure how much it costs.
But yeah, you just sink the grid into the wet concrete, ideally you should kind of elevate it with something so it sits roughly in the middle of it (thicknesswise). |

Trexxen:
1. Awesome
2. Oh, righto. Anyway, so I've decided to declare Dancing Tofu Gaming a prestigious club. Or at least, it will be. A cool thing about this particular club is that the members make money and serve the community in both a commercial and charitable sense. There is a wide range of ranks that I have already developed, currently, here's what we have:
-President
-Vice Presidents (there will be 2 or 3)
-Regional Supervisor
-Major Distributor
-Distributor
-Donor/Contributor
-Customer
-Enthusiast
-Guest
-Banned (I hope to not see many of these)
When DTG starts grossing more than 100k annually, I'll probably develope a corporate branch as well, but the fact that this is a club means a lot of things that make it a lot easier on people who aren't quite old enough to be getting real jobs.
3. Okay, will do. You're actually just looking for a DT600 DX w/ bar. I can either make them have the same baseboard or I can build you some doubles hooks. It'll probably cost more to ship them with the doubles baseboard, but it'll also work better. I can also ship them to you with no baseboard, and you can just get (3) 12"x1"x72" maple or pine boards, cut them to the right size, and then just put 'em in, and you have a doubles baseboard, without paying $1362451 for shipping.
4. I'll look forward to having you as a distributor soon. =)
Devout: okay, I'll look into it. Thanks again for your advice, it's been very valuable to me. _________________

Hmm...the hooks sound nice. Like I said, I should be able to make some decent money this summer, so that'll work. (I'm looking at $100 usable pay per week, the rest goes into car funds =P) _________________

June? Man, I know I've taken forever on this prototype, but I can definitely have a couple made for you by June.
For DT600 PIU doubles, I think the total would wind up being a clean $100.
How would you prefer your doubles attachment? _________________

if you can, i'd like to have them detatchable but still sturdy when hooked together...any idea on how you can do that?
if not, you could just make like 2 pads and 1 and make em 1 giant piece of wood of death.
the only other thing i'd like is if you could get PIU style arrow decals, or at the very least, have the top 2 panels red, center yellow, and bottom 2 blue. _________________

I'm working out the specifics on these, but I know they'll be good hooks. Hopefully I'll be able to make them without having to charge extra, but if I do have to charge you extra, would you be okay paying 5 or 10 bucks more for the hooks?
Mastah: Yeah. The DT610's, DT600 DX's, DT200's, and DT500's will all have lights. They'll be optional though. Default for DT600 series is led's because they have smaller arrow wells, and everything else defaults to cold cathodes. _________________
