Trip Machine Chaos?

Is it just me, or does Chaos sound distantly related to Trip Machine? Just like how people say HDV is sounds like HV in ways, I think Chaos is the same. Does anyone else feel that Chaos was intended to be a successor to Trip Machine?

Trip Machine's have always had that kinky porn music sound to it, I don't really hear any of that in Chaos.

We're getting a new Trip Machine in SN2 anyway, so..

Well, most of Naoki's recurring aliases each seem to keep with a certain theme, and most of the Trip Machines were made under the DE-SIRE alias, so that's most likely the reason you hear the similarity.

Never thought of it like that Milk Chan. When I heard CHAOS for the first time, I did have this feeling that it sounded like something I heard before. I think it was the TRIP MACHINE series I was thinkin of.

There is one "physical" similarity. It's the fact that both the series and CHAOS share the high-pitched sound effect that reminds me of a manipulated chalkboard screech sound. In CHAOS, it is played multiple times beginning immediately after the 3rd tempo stop (not including the tempo stops before you actually start stepping on arrows) until the first freeze of the song. In the TRIP MACHINE series, it is one of its trademark sounds.

Beyond that, it does have the same musical feel as a TRIP MACHINE does for the strangely mellow randomness of sound effects that vaguely connect to each other that both the series and CHAOS also share.

I concur - CHAOS sounds a -lot- more insturmentally comparable to TRIP MACHINE classic. And though it may be simply from the kinky porn-sound of it, I'd always thought that perhaps SEXY PLANET was originally intended to be "TRIP MACHINE -luv mix-" before the 2MB remix thereof, but renounced of the title for sounding "too smooth".

Even the -stepchart- of SEXY PLANET is very TRIP MACHINE-esque, isn't it?
