I was wondering if someone wa kind enough to send me the .ISO file you have made for yourself so that way i can just burn it.

I cant seem to do this myself since the packer program gives me an error.

So since you guys have already made your own .ISO files i thought you could just share it with me. pretty please E4.gif

Allrighty, I added all of the ITG2 songs (and re-added Funk Factory since the steps diffapeared), as well as almost 100 DDR songs, synced the steps properly (CURRENT_SIMFILE_OFFSET + 0.016, right?), and made sure the files were all in the right format/right sizes for graphics. The game loads but freezes at the phase of loading, where no progress is made even after waiting 15 minnutes.

Did I try to pack too many files into one PCK files? Should Ibreak down the files-per-PCKs ratio?

Not sure about all of your problems, Travelsonic. Did you keep all of the old ITG songs on the disc? That might be part of the problem. I remember other people having problems with that.

I wanted to mention that edgar131 made a great tutorial on adding songs to ITG PS2.

I did successfully modify ITGPS2 in the past just to add all the ITG2 songs, and it worked (minus my stupidly neglecting to check that the banner name in the SM file and filename match, even with the ITG1 songs). This is why I am baffled still.

If you've successfully done it before, that's really strange. It usually gets really easy after the first time doing it, and I'm sure you did it the same way.

Sorry I can't be of any help frown.gif

Again, I will suggest removing the original ITG1 songs, but you can't ever be completely sure.

I did it 3 times to be exact, plus this time - ITG2 song addition, and other megamix attempts with failure due to large DDR syncing. Those all worked perfectly, but I get buckus when I finally get it ALL right! E2.gif

EDIT: Are you allowed to have negative values for the offset? MAYBE that's it.... dam, so much work to do... E2.gif

I've been having a lot of trouble getting the custom ITG to work on PS2 also. I've been following two tutorials seemingly perfectly. I've gone through about 3 DVDs so far with my modded PS2, and have now gone to just testing the ISO on PCSX2 to reduce costs. The furthest I've ever got to was a frozen "Now Loading..." screen with the error "Music file found in 17" which was the first song in my custom folder. However I can't reproduce that result and my games always end with the error "Event destroyed while still in use." I've tryed burning to a disc anyway but the boot still doesn't occur. I've taken the time to compile an image showing the proceedure I'm taking with all the information you should need to help.

Please reply. I can be caught on AIM sometimes- my screenname should be in my profile.

Please help me! Ill explain exactly what I did so you might be able to find out what im doing wrong.

1. Extracted ITG PS2 disk and put all the files on HD. ( C:\ITG_PS2 )

2. Deleted IDX.PCK from PCKS folder.

3. Packed my song folder ( C:\songs ). checked datafile and generate cache, used "default test" as my comment. (excluding the "" of course)

4. Put the PCK with my songs into my PCKs folder.

5. Used PCK wrapper to make a new PCK.IDX, I selected C:\ITG_PS2\PCKS as the folder to wrap.

6. Selected Master DVD-ROM in DVD Generator and put the files in in the right order (im positive!)

7. I put in all the right things in the volume tab (again, im positve i did this right. I even triple checked after the 3rd time i did this frown.gif ) I make my iml file.

8. I used iml2iso to make my ISO.

9. Used DVD Decrypter to burn my disk. I burned it a 6x using 16x Dynex DVDs. (this burning method has worked 3 times on other PS2 games so I know its not the burner nor the DVDs)

10. Run Swap Magic 3.6 on PS2, Use fliptop to insert burned DVD.

11. I try "Special Boot" Square button. The screen turns red and freezes. WTF!

12. I try "Normal Boot" X button. The screen turns red for 2 seconds then goes black and freezes. WTF!

This is REALLY starting to get annoying. Iv made PS2 backups of my games and ran them fine with my swap magic. Please help!!! frown.gif

PS: I noticed that sometimes when I was burning the Buffer level would drop down to 60%-90% sometimes. could this have anything to do with why its not working?

Sorry kiddo but I'd wager money saying that you are wrong. Always burn at 1x and don't buy cheap best buy branded CD's. Get something good like Verbatim, every now and then you can even get em free with rebates, it's worth it. Or you can try again a few times until it works. I didn't read anything above this step besides #1 though either, so you could have fucked something else up too. I'd still bet it's just a sloppy write on the CD.

Acually I tried again using Sony DVD+R 16x burned at 6x and it still didnt work (ya know, the ones made in Japan, there manufactured by Taiyo Yuden) So I really think its not the DVDs.

Now I've got to the point where it runs but freezes when opening Dance Mode or any other mode with a Song Wheel. Practice mode freezes after picking a song.

Any help?

I clicked the generate cache arrow, and also tryed the stepmania for ITG cache. maybe the audio bitrate is too high?

If audio quality can be an issue that might be it. I set it to 256k bitrate when the defaulted was 160k. Re-encoding right now.

Thank you :]

Alright, after the reencoding of the audio, I can get into the modes fine. However, now when the Dance Wheel loads, it freezes up. It also freezes when leaving the Game Options menu. :[

What sizes are your images (like bg/banner)?

Also, how many songs did you put on?

The resolution of the images are the correct size. the total amount of songs is a little under 300. Around 270. The images are pretty low size because of the resolution bgs are about 60kb and banners about 2.5kb.

I compressed the pngs to a compression level of 10 instead of 5. It only made about a 5kb difference in the image sizes and it still crashes in the game options menu and the song wheels.
