We tried putting in Roxor, Andamiro, Nintendo, and Capcom, but for some reason only Sega was censored in SuperNOVA.

Why?

Back long ago on 5th Mix & Max (arcade), there was a list of names you couldn't enter on the name entry. Click here, go to Gurtygurt's FAQ, CTRL+F, type "censor", & it should go to the lists. Yay. Someone should ask Konami for the list & why some are censored, like Sega. This is both wierd & funny.

The reason is probably because back in the old days of 4-letter names, Sega was the only one of those that fit. I assume they had it censored to prevent Sega from freaking out about stupid shit.

Fast forward to modern day times when there's a ton of extra spaces on SuperNOVA. They probably used the exact same "banned words" list as they used in the past, and with all the extra spaces that's obviously not covering anything that wasn't possible before. I'm not sure where "Corcoran" gets censored; perhaps something about it makes the machine think you're trying to hide a banned word in there.

I think it's a fairly good explanation, since it's not at all hard to believe they halfassed certain parts of SuperNOVA. ;3

Anyway, just want to lend a random observation; in every single Sega World or Sega-affiliated arcade I've seen in Japan, there has been NO Bemani. Taiko no Tatsujin will be the closest you come to having Bemani in those arcades. This is interesting to me since EVERY OTHER ARCADE in Japan has Pop'n, GF/DM, and IIDX (and DDR on some occasions). It's magical.

In terms of other Konami games, I haven't paid a whole ton of attention. Obviously, these arcades are full of Sega or Namco-related games (Typing of the Dead [and a Lupin the 3rd-themed typing game] being one...House of the Dead, Point Blank, Time Crisis, Sega Tennis Challenge Uber Awesome or something like that, etc). No Konami as far as I remember.
