On Kyle Ward's site, it says "Beta Testing (begins)" with a progress bar at 30%. So something's happening.

I personally have a dislike with certain aspects of 5 panel, and like others, but I think posts like this, militant shit makes people think generalizations about 5-panelers being fanboys, and that is bad for everybody in the end.
I think Roxor was smart to do this, they can stay in the market and work with an increasingly popular format.
Even with this becoming popular though, I doubt 4-panel will ever completely go away - why? Stepmania and simulators like it (and the insane steppers), areas where the DDR/ITG craze has not yet hit or didn't catch on still exist/can still get picked up in it, that and I just don't think that people who play will completely give it up - nonstalgia will strike eventually too re-sparking playing really old (at that point in time) 4-panel gameplay just like emulation of old games.

I would think those generalizations would apply more to 4-panel players, especially with such a large "4-panel stigma" in certain areas by players unwilling to play anything but DDR or ITG. And yes, this stigma undeniably exists, since I've seen enough of it in arcades that I've frequented/visited. In PIU communities, one is generally respected and not shunned on being able to do well and enjoy playing in DDR/ITG/PIU, and there's no shame in that.
I don't think 4 panel will die, since it seems Konami still has interest in keeping DDR alive in the US, Europe, and Japan. I'm curious as to what this beta testing is all about... what format could they use outside of the DDR format?

What made you think I was talking to you? I was just telling "the A team" that he was right about us not knowing if it was a 5-panel game (and that in fact, it looks like it's not going to be one). I wasn't referring to your post in any way.
