Arcade: I don't really think more DDR games will come out for the arcade any time soon. Actually, I don't think any will ever come out anymore.

Console: I think there will still be a few more DDR games for consoles. PS2 games normally come out in Septemberish. The only new DDR game anyone knows of is DDR Universe for the Xbox 360 which is coming out some time in late February to early March.

I'm assuming you didn't hear Betsons newest announcement. Well, let me tell you the main idea. New update for DDR AND ITG machines, with about 200-300 new songs. If this is really ITG3, this will be the only arcade mix for a LONG LONG time, but hey, it will be keeping us busy for a long time.

It doesn't say that it's an update for ITG machines; it just says that an update for SN is coming, and that SN can be installed on ITG machines with the upgrade kits that are currently out of stock. Read it more carefully:

Quote:
Betson has announced that there are a limited number of dedicated units available, and more will be produced in February 2007. The conversion kit, which updates any of the previous DDR games and In the Groove, is temporarily out of stock but will be produced again in February. Here is the ideal opportunity to bring new life to your older DDR's. Betson's Executive Vice President of Sales, Bob Boals, also announces that a content update will be coming in the summer. Approximately 200 to 300 new songs will be added with accompanying new dance steps. Konami's DDR series of dance games have always appealed more to the serious DDR player than the other dance games on the market, and this new version does not disappoint. Get them while they're hot. DDR SuperNova is the king of dance games!

1. This a Console games topic so it'll probably be locked.
2. SuperNOVA came out in September
3. Konami hasn't announced weather or not they will do another PS2 mix or go to the PS3.

Very unlikely.

Guitar Hero isn't made by Konami. In fact it wouldn't surprise me too much if Konami actually kills Guitar Hero the way they did ITG. And there will never be song requests for DDR available to Americans. Konami doesn't give a rats arse about us*.

*Japan already has the unlock code for Supernova boss songs... America and Europe have been told nothing.

There's a thought.

I don't think they can since GH isn't that similiar to Guitar Freaks.

It's about as similar as PIU is to DDR.

But Pop'n Stage is to PIU as ITG is to DDR, yet Andamiro did nothing about it. blink.gif

I guess Andamiro didn't care about it.

What do you mean we? Anyone that had bemani knowledge outside of DDR probably knew of these songs long before Supernova. Hell stuff like No. 13 and AA have been out for years now and people knew of them before Supernova.

Also, America kind of has that option, with a song contest. They did one for UM4, which was won by DM Ashura's GO! And there's a new one in progress.

I think he means "the newer-to-DDR masses", or the ones that don't already delve into IIDX, Pop'N, or other music/rhythm games. I remember that, for a little while, most of the songs/genres in DDR were totally new to me.

(*P.S: Vote for my song, SURGE in the DDR Song Contest...)
