ok I'm planning on buying a metal ddr pad, my choices are:
cobalt flux
red octane afterburner
ninja(ebay)
blade(ebay)
Metal Ion(ebay)
I was going to get the afterburner from the official site but they are out of stock, so i have to get another pad besides the octane, I'm thinking the ion because it looks like its a pretty good pad, but i dont like the cobalt flux because it doesnt feel like a real ddr pad. i need suggestions please _________________

Avoid ebay like the plague. Way too many horror stories.
I'd try the Nexen or Blueshark from mymybox.com. _________________

This belongs in Bemani Controllers, but whatever.
The "eBay" pads that you listed suck, so just take those off your list right now. Afterburners look awful from the videos that I've seen, and they don't look like they'd feel much more like an arcade pad that a CF w/ mod kit. Plus CF's are really awful now for some reason.
I recommend getting a Blueshark or a DT pad. You can have the DT pad customized to whatever the hell you want. (I'm getting mine with ITG panels, LEDs, a sturdy bar, and the exact arrow repressedness (not a real word, but I can't think of anything else) And the Blueshark is good, but you can't get any of these cool add-ons put onto it.
Good luck deciding. |

1. Wrong Thread
2.Cobalt Flux. How many times am I gonna have to pound it into the brains of others? By far the best at home DDR pad you can buy. Mine is over 2 years old and still works fine. It's also considered by many to be as close as you can get to the arcade machine, without actually buying one. Read up on www.cobaltflux.com. Trust me, in the long run, $300 is well worth the price. _________________

Last time I checked, Blueshark owned the Flux in just about every way, particularly replicating the arcade pad. _________________

I have heard mixed reactions on the blueshark and mymybox.com, but have heard all positive feedback on the CF. Sure, blueshark makes a good replica, but does it last? _________________

Well, I think so. I have yet to hear a single negative thing about it. I've also heard bad things about the CF from a few people (I want to say VideoCWK was pretty unhappy with his, but I'm not sure about that). _________________

I read it, but I never thought he was indicating any sort of "New" cobalt fluxes. What new ones are you talking about? I know they plan on releasing a new version of the flux that's supposed to look completely different, but that's not out yet. The site still sells the same quality pads that I bought over 2 years ago.
I'm just saying I have one and know first hand that it's a great mat. I recommend it. _________________

I personally own a CF that I got in July of 06, so it isn't too old. I have no probs with it and I do love it. That being said, I will add that it cost me nearly $400 once all was said and donw to pay for the pad, shipping, the ARCADE MOD KIT, and a USB converter to play it on my PC. I myself NEED my pad to be very close to the arcade one, so I had to get the arcade kit. If you're like me and want a genuine arcade feeling, then stick to a CF (with arcade kit) or perhaps the Blueshark. I have heard great things about both (I have heard nothing about the DT pads mentioned above). You also mentioned you didn't like the feel of the CF pads. If that is the case, I would try out the Blueshark. I'm sure a Blueshark is almost, if not as good, an investment as a CF.
P.S. Stay the HELL away from Ebay pads!!! _________________
