I currently have this pad:
http://www.ddrgame.com/dance-dance-revolution-ddrgame-energy-dance-pad-m03855.html

which I got on ebay for about $50 shipped.

I was looking toward a metal pad, but it seems that the only acceptable metal pad is the nexen, the blueshark, or the cobalt flux.

Is there any other pad (not necessarily metal) which would be a decent upgrade from the one i have now for, under $200?

for example this: http://www.ddrgame.com/dance-dance-revolution-m03837.html
I know its ddrgame, but just how bad would it be?

thanks! E1.gif

well, there really is no "upgrade" once you have an ignition pad, if you dont want to spend a gazillion dollars on a nice metal pad. the metal pad you linked is absolutely horrible, its plagued with bad craftsmanship, and faulty wiring. so unless you want to do a dramatic rebuilding of that tx-1000, save up for a cf, or blueshark, or just build your own homepad, thats really fun. although, you can mod that pad, so it can be of good use, but with the materials you need, it might actually just add up to 200 dollars.

What is an ignition pad? Or a tx-1000? They were both mentioned.

I thought about making a wood frame and then somehow taping or flexing my pad over it in order to make it a tighter fit, which I think would be easier to play on.

Are you looking for something like this?

You can't really upgrade your pad without buying a whole new pad, and definately don't waste your money on junk from ddrgame that's going to break within two months. If you're going to invest in a metal pad, make it good.

an ignition pad is a softpad, with a foam insert. (itgoes on the bottom of the pad) yes the bns fusion is the most reliable ignition out there. oh and a tx 1000 is a metal pad, the one you linked, and it sucks major buttocks. dont get that one.
