I'm going to CHQ eventually (I only get to play video games on vacations) and I bought a USB flash drive today. My question is: how do you prepare it for an ITG2 machine? _________________

if your arcade has r21 and you want to play custom songs your first time using it, just create a folder called "In The Groove 2" on the root of the drive, then inside, create a folder called "Songs" and put all your .ogg and .sm only simfiles there! _________________

I got mine and I opened it up and stuck it in the machine. The machine wouldn't read the card, so it basically didn't even know that it was in there. I then took off U3 and formatted it to FAT, and it still didn't work. Then I formatted it to FAT32 and it STILL didn't work. I have to bring my camera phone to the arcade now if I want pictures. |

Check the back of the box. It has to say "No drivers required" for it to work on ITG. If it says something like "Compatible with Windows 98 and up" or "No drivers required for Windows ME/XP," it won't work.
If all else fails, check the USB card FAQ for your brand and see what it says. _________________

I'm not even too sure where my box is actually, but it's a Sandisk Cruzer Mini 512MB and I've heard that they worked for ITG. Maybe it's the ITG machines that I played on? I'm going again tonight, and if it doesn't work, I don't know.
EDIT: Alright, I just got back from the arcade and it just randomly started to work and I didn't even do anything to it. WTF? o.o

Preferabbly a SanDisk; so far I haven't encountered one that hasn't worked.
The drive compatibility is: FAT or FAT32 _________________

You know. I have a similar flash drive (ScanDisk 1GB Cruzer Micro) and it doesn't work with ITG. I figured if I try removing the U3 crap on it, it would work, but I am having a problem with that. Everytime I format (I have it formatted FAT32) my card AND remove the U3 system from it, it always shows up again. Do you have suggestions, since I made a bunch of crap I'd actually like to play, other than just the mainstream stuff people at the local arcade play over and over. _________________

I have a Memorex 512 MB card which I believe says no drivers are required for XP-so I guess it won't work on ITG. _________________

I use a Memorex 512mb card, so yours should work. |

That's more then enough space! ^^ You could probably get a 32mb and have it work for several rounds! Also brand does not matter~ I have a Sony stick and it works perfectly fine~ _________________

If you're just using it for screenshots, then it's fine. |

Edits are fine on a 32 meg. All you need for an edit is the .sm (read: .txt) file. You're right about R21 songs, though. _________________

OK so I just got a 256 Sandisk Cruzer Micro. I plugged it into my ps2 and tried to transfer my edits that I made from ITG2 BETA to the card, but it wouldn't even let me access the "transfer to usb drive" menu. Although I realize almost none of you know anything about the itg2 ps2 beta, does anyone know why it's not working? My guess is that since it's just a beta, they didn't bother to actually set up the usb stuff, right?
I'll probably just figure out how to make stepmania edits... _________________

I'm planning on going to an arcade with ITG2 soon, but it's a long way away and I'll only be able to go occasionally, so what do I have to do to get my long name to show up the first time I play? |
