I play only in my mesh Puma's. They're black, pink, and purple and I <3 them. Sometimes I'll play in my Etnies also, but I do best in my Puma's. The shoes you wear really does influence how well you play!

At least for me, anyways.

It is verry important. I agree. that is why I like to play both shoeless and sockless or with my fav shoes. you ned to have a good grip. socks are nice because they let you glide acrooss the mat when you do fast songs and they also let you easily feel were u r stepping. I hear some people have gotten cuts and stuff that way but not me. so I just play with socks.

Since I just use the console versions, I play barefoot. I used to play with socks when my feet were cold, but since I'm doing more difficult songs my toes end up burning anyway.

Sometimes I wear Nike Shox, but most of the time I prefer my Adidas Supernovas...because the sole is kinda worn it allows me to pivot easier on double.

my puma romas are falling aparts frown.gif after playing hours on end on my cobalt flux and im looking for a new pair of shoes ONLY for DDR(so fashion is NOT a problem!) and a new pair of shoes for not DDR. FOr DDR, im thinkin of something shoe lace-less(since i find my shoe laces often come undone or get in the way), so i was thinkin of some puma el ras. THey're cheap, shoe laceless, and even look pretty cool(which is more of a bonus).

So, what do you guys think?

^ Those Pumas remind me of laceless Vans that a few of my friends wear. They look light enough to work well, but I'm not sure how tight they'd fit around your ankle. It would definently be a problem if they were loose.

As for my dilemma, I've been looking at Nike Free's, which I've heard great things about. However, I found another crosstrainer that is about 2 oz. heavier but has considerable more cushioning -

Nike Men's Air Huarache 2K6 TR

Does anyone think these might be better than Nike Free's?

This is the best investment ever.

Light.
Hard sole.
Great support.

Trouble is, you really can't wear another shoe once you buy these, they literaly change the way you walk.

I wear green converse allstars. Good for playing cause they're very thin and flat, easy to wear in, bendable. I got extremely flat feet, so I need flat shoes. I've been wearing converse just as long as I've been playing which 6 and 1/2 years.

I play in socks even though I have metal pads.... riiight.gif It feels weird with shoes for some reason so I sometimes end up with a pair of broken socks after each long game.

I wear Vans.

They don't have laces so I like how I don't have to worry about them coming untied.
They are very comfortable, yet they don't slip off my feet.
And they are also very flexible, not to mention stylish :]
