Let's stop talking about the musical choice because that is an opinion. I agree with you, it wasn't shown in the way that it has been played for years. It was just shown more as 'some crazy arrow stomping game', as if no one has seen it before.
The entire audience left with a game, maybe that will get them more educated. Besides, just because people don't post on the internet or go to the arcade, doesn't mean they don't know how to play. We just need to get them talking. |
Maybe with the DDR on tv.... maybe.... There will be tons of ddr posers and sh!t like that... big down for the veterans, big up for the konami! More money from ddr = more demand for ddr = more mixes to probably come? _________________

Why are you people so angry about their song selection? This is mtv, they are trying to appeal to people who aren't geeks. Hopefully their segment will attract some new people to ddr and help keep the community going. I don't see anything wrong with that. _________________

If the MTV people start playing DDR for whatever reason, that's going to make DDR's reputation hit rock bottom, since people who watch MTV have a bad reputation on their own. |

The main problem with DDR is that it is not get a sparingly amount of attention beyond having it in schools. What about the arcades, and the people who play at them (not just on Beg. and Lgt.)? They deserve the attention, too.
For example, the players that danced on the show (didn't want to watch MTV screw up DDR, so I didn't watch it!) should have been given more respect, like renting/buying Cobalt Fluxes or even Ignition-like pads instead of soft pads.
Veering off topic quickly here, MTV is a pretty bad role model to the youth/teens, in my opinion. MTV parades around rich kids who have the looks, and nothing else. It seems they are more beautiful and are highlighted as the only people in teenage society, in my opinion.
Stu,
I believe that MTV has a bad repetition not just in the viewers, but in the people on the shows. I agree with you
I hope you guys think about this, because I remember when I was 8-9 yrs. old (early 90s), when MTV was about music. Now it is not about music, it is about what I mentioned about above.
Also, congrats to the players. You made the DDR community proud amid everything that MTV restricted. |

| Slightly off topic, but you're right. TV in general is not as good as it used to be. _________________

Alright.
First of all, Thanks Rynker for the vid!
Now, they could have (as I would have expected) made it a lot worse. They had no reason to play on a soft mat (which Im guessing was the stock mat for the bundle that apparently they had plenty of). I really dont like people that claim to be good and fail songs, especially on national television. Other than that, I guess it wasnt all THAT bad. |
