When parents don't keep a good eyes on their 4 to 5 year old kids and they just walk up and just start stomping on the arrow on your side of the pad. I swear to everything I love I needed to hold my anger in cause due to some little kid out of nowhere making me fail the whole song on my side of the pad while I had a friggin combo going on.. Has the parents started to lose their common sense to keep an eye on their kids and shint? Cause damn if you can't keep a good eye on your kids well that means you're not a very good parent so to say... |
Lol, I remember one time, there was a birthday party with about 30+ kids under 10 at the bowling alley where DDR was, and I had been playing for a while before they arrived. I decided to take a break, went to the bathroom for a minute or two, and when I walk out, all of of the kids from the birthday party are literally swarming the pad like a fat kid in a candy shop. They're stomping all over the pad, and I'm praying that they don't completely destroy it. Also, the parents at the party do nothing about it, which sort of surprizes me. They'd let these kids demolish anything... _________________

sheesh,...and them old people tell us young people to respect the elders.true enough but how much can we take from age discrimination.although we may not been on this planet as long as those senior citizens
but we still have feelings.
and besides that 60 year old is about retirement age.he talking to young people like that is not right.when they run their mouth like that they might get beat up one day.there is plenty of sensitive people out there.

Im sorry my mother always told me to respect my elders but I think to a techinicallity.. That old geezer will get put on blast if I ever seen him. Cause hell the game isn't about competition... Well sometimes but still it is all about having fun and if the old fart seen my skill level and I passed that song with a higher grade twice as high he wouldn't be able to say jack squat.. Cause runnin off the mouth like that will get yourself hurt in 3 ways indeed.. _________________

Hmm, I think I would give them a long boring lecture teaching them how to raise their children, I may be 13... but parents who don't know common sense can't be any more knowledged than me. |

When little kids make me fail I yell very loudly at them. Not only does it get rid of them, but it keeps them from coming back. I just get really pissed off when little kids come and put my dollar to waste. Maybe some day one of the parents will come and yell at me for yelling at/stepping on their kid. Then I could yell at the parent and demand a dollar. I'd much rather get it out on the person most responcible instead of someone who isn't (little kids are really stupid, once when I was maybe two I took the lightbulb out of a lamp, turned it on, stuck my finger inside, and cried, and then an hour later I did it again). If a little kid makes me fail, I blame the parents, not the kid. _________________

So yeah, I haven't been on these forums in like a year now and I may have missed some big revolution, but why are goths hated so much now?
I've been reading this thread for 2 pages and found like 3 people bashing on goths. And people need to stop using emo as a classification of people because it simply means emotional. Have you ever felt strong emotion about something? Then you've been emotional.
I myself like Tripp clothes and black clothes, but that doesn't make me goth. So unless those who are bashing on these "goths" really know the people, don't classify them as goths in the first place.
Ontop of that, why does it matter what they where? I'm assuming you don't know them outside of the game very much, meaning you're again calling them goths based simply on the fact of what they're wearing. How does wearing black irritate you guys who find goths playing DDR so irritating?
Now I've been playin for 5 years now, and I'm not saying I'm pro or anything. Hell, I'm worse than some of my friends who started like 1 year ago or so, but I don't care. No one in my area cares. And anyone who decides to be an a-hole about it is usually shunned by everyone else who plays until they calm the f*ck down. It's a game.
You wanna know what I hate?
People who assume that they're so much better than other people, and there-by can downsize them just to make themselves feel a little bit better cause obviously DDR is that defines them and that's most likely their only redeaming feature. I hate people who act like it's more than just a game when we all know it's not. It's a hell of a good game, but a game none-the-less.
All in all, I hate those who can't find the humanity to respect others. Those who can't respect others, and yet expect to receive respect in return. Those who think "OMG look at me cause I can AAA this 10 footer so all n00bz bow down below me!" And I know people who get that way, and I make sure that they realize how they're getting.
It's a game.
No one is going to warship you because of it. No one should have to.
Just respect people and you'll get respect back.
And if you don't, then to hell with them, you don't need to watch them play, nor are you forced to interact with them. If they piss you off, tell them.
Simple as that. _________________

in a way it is funny you brought that up about f#cking up your AA and AAA attempt.i feel your pain deeply too.not so long ago i was trying to AA "Flowers" to beat a record on DDRSN and right outta the blue a flying puck from 2 feet away speeding from the air hockey table hit the machine with impact.so i yelled at the 2 people whether they meant it or not.
it was just flat out dangerous!
later those two fellows left and i finally passed the song and beat the record.beating the song is OK,i like beating the record better.

Once i was trying to 'AA' Cant Stop Fallin' in love speed mix. I was well on my way until the end of the song. once I was at the final set of crossovers, some guy just puts his card on the waiting thing (right in front of me) Then answers his phone. he was still in front of me when i heard the 'Failed" voice.
I hate my arcade, yet when i go home, i laugh about all the randomly strange and exceedingly annoying things that happen to me, and not my other friends who go to different arcades. |

I can relate to those who are sickened by people who make out close by the machines, as I have seen two couples, one frequently, do this. Bad part is, I know them both, loosely speaking, so I can tolerate it. Anyone else, though, GET A ROOM!
Before I list the things I really detest, you must bear in mind that the place I play at is the arcade in a family amusement park.
As for what I really find annoying...
It's only happened once to me, and it's been mentioned in this thread I'm sure, but when small children manage to elude their not-so-watchful parents' eyes, they go where they want, never mind the guy whose feet are flying all over the pad (not literally, but you get my drift), causing me to hit them with my leg while reaching for the back arrow, stopping the second I make contact, and in the time it takes for me to shoo the little rascal off the pad, I've failed the song. One would think, taking their little ones to an amusement park, they'd keep their eyes on them at all times. Guess not.
Now, there's no card line (yes, card, the arcade uses cards valued with credits), but it is extremely annoying when you've been waiting for a few sets of others who were there first to finish, and someone who hasn't even been there for 20 seconds goes up insisting it's their turn. Yeah, I'll offer to join them in play sometimes, but it's still annoying.
I have the extreme misfortune of knowing someone who refuses to acknowledge my achievements when I relate them, and have since stopped. Reason being is instead of encouragement or some form of congrats for a good job, he insists the song is "easy" and he AAA'd it on his first try. Sure, I have a number of Standard songs and 1 Heavy song I can claim to have AA'd on my first try, but I don't go bragging about it to people who are playing the song for their first time, or are proud to have made that achievement after their efforts.
Leave me alone when I'm playing. Ask me your questions or give me your loudly spoken compliments after I'm done with the song, please. And for heaven's sakes, if I'm recording my score after a song, whether it's my last or not, LEAVE THE START BUTTON ALONE!
Again with the parents not willing to stop their kids from destroying everything in sight like Taz, keep your kids from going onto the pads when not in use and stomping around. The location I play at has an issue with the right arrow on the 1P side of the DDRSN machine because of this, and the 2P side of the Extreme cabinet, the arrows, while still functional, you have to put a lot of weight to get the panels down enough to set off the sensors. Again, because of all the stomping kids, and some players, do.
Last complaint: I know you like to try and AAA songs, but PLEASE, if you get a SINGLE GREAT during your song, don't throw a fit, don't blame the pad (Especially while playing the 1P side of Extreme at my location), because odds are it really is your fault, not the pad. Wanna complain of a pad miss? The panels do light up when activated, the only time I consider pad miss to be legit is when the panel is still lit when you step off. It happens, but rarely. And lastly, don't stomp on the pad when you get anything less than a Perfect in your frustration. And people wonder why the pads are less than perfect. _________________
