Huh? Have you ever even played basketball? If you are even barely trying you'll break out in a sweat. If you don't, then you're not playing hard enough.

According to you.

I edited my post before you replied for a reason, you know.

How is playing basketball at all related to playing DDR? It doesn't matter what you think, because the fact is that people don't like the way you look when you're drenched in sweat from playing.

Apparently not or I wouldn't have been able to quote it.

You must have hit Quote before I edited my post, but I still edited my post before you replied.

I've never seen any females turned on by arrow smash and sweat.

Doesn't matter at all. The fact is that I got what you said and replied to it.

Except that it means pretty much nothing, because I took back what I said.

I don't quite see how sweating gives DDR a bad reputation; in fact at the arcades that I've been to parents are always saying that this game is great because it makes kids active and that it's a great workout. My relitives got DDR for their kids because I was sweating so much from it and getting such a good workout.

Sweating is not a turnoff, in my opinion. It is a natural thing, and when you think about it, it shows off the effort and dedication of us players.

Things that ruin DDR:

1. Elitists. It is OK if you AAA everything, just don't rub it in or shoot people down!

2. Showing people in the media with the wrong techniques/ playing the game wrong (like news stories):

I think that it is very cool to show someone on Beg or Light playing the game and liking it, but they do not highlight the Std/Heavy players much if any at all!

3.
Quote:
Dance Revolution the tv show

Thank you for saying that!!! That show doesn't even have any DDR. Why the (censored) do you (censored) call it Dance Revolution. I don't see any arrows, kids puking on Max 300 Light, or anything!! Whoever thought of doing this should have to do 9s and 10s until they collapse!!

Thank you!

I think this is done to make it look more acessible to the general public. If John Smith turns on the news and sees someone FCing Max300 he may think every song is that hard, whereas if he sees someone playing Butterfly light and having fun, hes more apt to try it.

Basketball is already widely accepted and regarded as a sport, and by that means it is already assumed you are going to sweat.

DDR is not (yet) to this status. Sweating at the arcade is not yet this popular.

I understand, but it doesn't hurt to show the whole spectrum of DDR players. E1.gif

another reason potentials are turned off by DDR is that a lot of people feel as though they may not have the foot-eye coordination to step on the arrows at the right time. a lot of people concern themselves with the fact that they may look dumb or something and (here it comes) people KNOW that butterfly on light with assistance of the bar will incite shit-talk from DDR Imperials...er, elitists. Therefore, people avoid playing games like DDR due to fear of humiliation.
