Are there any patterns you feel Roxor overused in their charts?

I myself am getting really sick of step jumps. 8th step jumps are boring and 16th step jumps are hard and stupid. goog.gif

Talk now.

good thing they used that part in so many songs, making this a very on-topic post

I always notice that in a lot of charts.

There will be a section of three sixteenths, and they range starting like.

Left, Down, Left
Right, Down, Right
Etc.

Then it will start varying arrows.
Up, Left, Right
Down, Right, Left

I don't know if its just me, but I see that a lot.

I suppose it's not a specific pattern of steps that's overused, but a decent number of ITG1 songs suffered from cut-and-paste syndrome, where you'd see a pretty decent chunk of the stepchart (like several measures), and then later in the song you'd see that big chunk of stepchart again. No mirror or anything, EXACTLY the same. Infection Hard is a nice example.

Hand of TIme Hard and Remember December Hard suffer from that just as bad if not worse.

And yes, it's noticeable

16th note streams?
That and sets of 3 sixteenths on the downbeat.
Also, ITG seems to use the same pattern for one song way too much.
Ex. The beginning the set of sixteenth notes a few times and them the jump freezes. Dawn is another example that comes to mind, with the same pattern over and over for the majority of the song. Many ITG songs are guilty of this.

Umm... It exists because I want it to. I love manyof Roxor's hard/expert charts, but some patterns can get repetitive.

That really doesn't mean anything when the thread degenerates down to a good stepchart vs. bad stepchart debate.

But it hasn't, and probably won't since the DDR fanboys probably don't even post in the ITG forum, so yeah... no "Roxor's charts suck buttocks zomg" comments here.
