Having just about $200, I've decided I wanna get another import game.....I just don't know which one. I'm choosing from the following 3:
1.) GF/DM Masterpiece Silver (w/ Guitar & Drum controllers) or V. Reading the songlist, I'd perfer MPS cuz' I know most of the songs (I know about 2 on V.....Himawari & FUNKY SONIC WORLD!! Here's to hoping both will be on MP Gold.....or at least FSW!)
2.) Pop'n Music (w/ controller). Which one, I don't know. I want to play these songs (I know Pop'n 8 have some of these, & 9....I don't know the songlist for any other mix. I'd also like to know which anime themes appear on which game):
Curus
Quick Master
Daikenkai (or the long version on 9)
DanDanDo
Mahou no Tobira
Love Love Sugar
Candy <3
Jet Coaster Girl (I feel my manliness fainting away listing these girly songs....)
321 Stars
Jet World (HTF this got on, I'll never know, but HEY! Great song!)
Ska Ska No. 3
Knockout Regrets
Kagerow
Mugen

I'll help with the ones I can remember off the top of my head.
Curus: Iroha (12).
DanDanDo: Both versions are on 11.
Love Love Sugar: 10, I believe. I might be wrong.
Candy <3: 8.
321 Stars: 8.
Jet World: 8.
Ska Ska No. 3: 11, I think.
Pop 'n' is really good to get, but ONLY with an arcade-style controller. The small controller just doesn't replicate the experience.

10th is a very good style, but it is significantly easier (in my opinion) than Red. Of course, there are some exceptions, such as 1st Samurai, but as a whole, it was a really easy style.

Depends on your tastes and skill level. If you're pushing the 5/6 boundary, 10th Style can be frustrating IMO. I haven't tried 9th yet (or HS), but between the two I'd say HS over 10th. I feel it's the complete opposite myself. :shrug:

Uh, Jet World isn't in KBM and PPP (and I don't know or care about Toy's March, 86.4, or Mambo A Gogo), but it's in pretty much *every* other game. My local arcade has three Bemani games (DDR, GF 11th, and BM:Final) and I can play Jet World *and* Daikenkai on all three.

Jet World (Pop n 8, 12 Needs GF/DM V data to unlock on pop n 12)
Knockout Regrets (Pop n 12 NOTE: japanese ver. is default, English vocals need DDR Strike data)

For all those 3 games,if you're not going to buy a controller,you better leave them alone and save your money.
If you have no ASC,controller for fightning games can be a substitute.However,it still sucks.(Unless you're going to play pop'n 5key/BMIIDX 5key or GF only) |

If you had BM 12th, you could've played Himawari on all 3.
I already have a BM controller (duh, I've got Red!), but I REALLY doubt I wanna pay $200 just for a controller. The BM US controller is working just fine, & I've had it since a week after BM US's release date & used it for about an hour or more a day for almost all year (give or take a month).
The songs that wanted me to get 10th Style are DoLL, 1st Samauri, Rainbow Rainbow, Burnin' Heat!, Love <3 Shine (I wanna see the vid w/ the BM people as kids!), & No. 13.
The songs that wanted me to get GF/DM MPS are Chikara, Classic Party 3 (which I HOPE Triathlon will be on MP Gold!), Family Restaurant Bomber, Gekkou Chou, Hito ni Yasashiku, Magical Jet Tour (even though it isn't the long version), Mikeneko Rock, Rockin' Paradise, Timepiece Phase 2, & Voiddd.
On V, there's Breakdown! (which I gotta unlock...), Daikenkai, Funky Sonic World, Himawari, & The Least 100 Seconds.
I should also note that for Red, I've cleared every song on Light7 (except Gigadelic), cleared four 7-star songs on 7Key, & cleared the easiest Anothers (up to .59). |

1. There's no 12th Beatmania. 
2. It's an Extreme. I thought about clarifying that when I wrote it, but strangely, didn't feel I'd need to.

I think they're referring to the $200 ASC for pop'n music not beatmania IIDX, since the pop'n controller is FUNDAMENTALLY different from the real arcade experience, unlike the KOC which is close to the arcade just not as good. I also use a USKOC and am glad to be able to find a hand bemani game that makes me happy without breaking my wallet over it (aka pop'n music).
Love <3 Shine and No. 13 are also in 9th Style, but the rest of the songs in your list are not. I'm also a 7k player, and only chipping away at Flashing 7s/8s, so we're probably in about the same boat. Although... I haven't cleared gigadelic L7 and The Safari L7, so that means you're probably more skilled than I am. I've heard that a majority of the 7key songs in 10th are FLASHING 7s unlike 8th, 9th, and RED, which means a large section of songs that are really tough.  That's the only caveat for 10th I've remembered. Since the beginner curve isn't an issue for you (9th's weakness), I feel that 8th or 9th might save you the tears that 10th might bring...
One thing about 8th is that it uses the old interface which does take some adjustment, but it only took 5-10 songs to get used to it. But 8th and 9th might be better for transitioning into the Flashing 7/8/Flashing 8 territory than 10th. Well, I like the selection of 10th a lot, but I'm just saying that there are other good options (8th and 9th!). Not to mention that 10th is the most expensive style in eBay right now for some bizarre reason.

It took me almost 25 tries to clear The Safari. I can get a B on Gigadelic, but it's that dang ending! BTW, I also cleared Key 7K about a few days ago. & The Cube Another (It's easy, as I found out.)
Right now, I'm leaning towards GF/DM MPS w/ the controllers. Tell me, how well are the controllers?
& I meant Happy Sky, Cutriss. & I also meant Supernova. |
