I used to go to DDR with my friends pretty often, but now most of them say they dont like it, I still do but not many of my friends still DDR which sucks becasuse most of them were really good. So its almost ruined DDR for me because none of my friends (that are good) DDR. How many people beside me have had this happend to them and what are some ideas for what to do about it. Or how to get friends back playing it.

Try reminding them the joy of playing DDR, like try getting them together and go on the ddr machine in the arcade, make sure there's a big crowd, then play and make sure its really impressing to the viewers, then they'll say like "man i could do that", then they'll try to show-off, well thats what i would do

metalgearbolton, I know how you feel. My friend used to play DDR. He was even better than me, then he quit. I was depresed, but I kept playing and got through it.

I've had this happen to me, just keep on trying to get your friends to play, or get really really good, then show em one day and amaze them. That might make them come back. E13.gif

This is a popular feel for many that came to play within the last year or so. Those you met playing the game before you started may have found a boredom during the void between Extreme and Supernova, and during that time found other things to do.

Thats what happened to some of my friends. A lot of what we did was we didnt play DDR like every weekend. So DDR became a good upcoming event cause we didnt do it so often. Course when Supernova came out we let loose.

Oh, the memories (lol song).

When I got into DDR, there were four other people that went along for the ride: an older brother, a nephew, a friend that used to go to the same school, and a friend of the older brother (who we haven't seen in a couple of years). The third person I mentioned discovered a small card store known as Zajal and Jypsy's Game Castle back in Summer of 2002, right after I hit age ten. We had just recently got into the YU-GI-OH! Trading Card Game, and we went to this store to participate in tournaments. At this store there was a DDR MAX 2 machine that was quite popular. All five of us got into DDR because of this machine.

The first and fourth people I mentioned quit within a year and a half to two years; the fourth person did, however, begin playing at home. The store closed down in March or so of 2004 and reopened at a different location between October and December. My nephew, the other friend, and I still went there to play DDR. Early into 2005 my nephew quit. When the store closed down for good in (I think) November 2005, my friend quit playing in the arcade scene and now only rarely plays Ultramix at home. I moved on to an Aladdin's Castle in Greenfield in February 2006 and still go there.

My brother ended as a high Standard/low Heavy player, his best accomplishments being Tears Standard, HVAM Standard, and Burnin' the Floor Heavy. My nephew, my friend, and my brother's friend were all good Heavy players, all around the OMG I PASSED MAX 300 level of play. My friend was the best of the three, however, beginning to barely AA some Heavy songs.

It sucks that none of the people I've known for a long time play anymore. The acquaintances I have at Aladdin's Castle just aren't the same as the real friends that used to play.
