I really hate it when people pat me anywhere on the body when i am DDRing.i don't care if you are my friend or somebody i know, it just throws me off during a game.just don't do it!i rather they let me finish the game then give me a pat on the back, shoulder,or wherever appropriate i hope.
-and-
when people cover up the arrows on the screen, when i am DDRing.especially they better not do that when i am going for a serious PA attack, man if they do i will be outraged.

Lets see...
1. When people dont give you the time to set up your mods after they selected the song.
2. This literally pissed me off one day.. I was playing doubles one day and at the start of the song one of the employees just get up all in my way saying that she was next and almost led to a big dispute because of that. Thankfully it was on light but hell its pretty stupid to kick someone off the pad when playing doubles.. And yeah it was a slow day.
3. When people want to play doubles and well there is a line of other players as well.
4. People who lean on the bar when you really need to use it. I tend to slap their arms off and well that gets their attention to lay off it.
5. The repetitivity of a song in a row..
6. Getting asked stupid questions in the middle of playing a song.
7. Distractive yelling of the OMGZ and all that jazz.
8. And people being a total fiend on the DDR machine
Well thats it.. _________________

I usually go right after work, when kids are usually still either at school, doing after school activities, or homework, so MOST of the time the arcade is almost empty. With the exception of a few stray people playing air hockey, or some of the other games.
But on the occasion, parents will bring their under 10 year old kids in with them, and try to re-live what they remembered from that arcade from our own kid years ( it used to be a VERY a-typical arcade from the 1980's ^___^ ). But I'll be on the DDR pad, going through some tough songs ( I'm trying to push myself to get better on standard so I can finally move on to heavy ), and of course little kid see's all the bright flashing lights and loud sounds and me jumping around on the dance pad, trying to keep my legs from collapsing on themselves (I'm on my feet all day at work, and I walk to and from it). Little kid wants to get closer, so they step right up on the player 2 pad and try to get SUPER close to me so they can STARE up at me and watch.
I try to keep on going without smacking into them, but as much as I CAN'T STAND LITTLE KIDS, as an aunt, I also don't want to see them get hurt because their parents are too damn stupid not to keep an eye on them. So my fake smile gets plastered on and I have to tell them to get off the pad and away from the machine, that they could get hurt by getting so close. Then Mommy-dearest *a cookie goes to whomever knows whom I'm referencing from* strikes up with, "Oh, but he / she / it is just faaaaascinated by this game. He / she / it just wants to watch you!".
Wow, yeah, okay, first of all, I'm not bad on DDR, but I don't think I'm all that impressive when I do play *though moves are getting a lot easier ^_~*.
Second, you won't want your little whiney monkey standing and watching me so closely when I accidentally step on them because they wanted to get right up on the pad with me! My arms move around and I use my whole body. Little junior would either get smooshed, butt bumped off the pad and into the Guitar Mania machine or the floor or the bar, stepped on, or smacked upside the head.
I actually prefer the presence of the better DDR players around when I play, so as to scare off the mommies and their screaming baby monkies. Ya know, because heaven forbid their kids be around... le gasp... goths and emo's and geeks! OH THE HUMANITY! ;b *I personally like all the regulars, the entire lot at the Rockaway Mall are a nice bunch of people ^___^. *

i hate it when people make themselves too much at home,at the arcade.they start to get ready to play the game.and they put their stuff on my stuff.so sometimes i try to find something i think i lost it.
i hate it when people think they can pass some song on the first try and they can't so they do it until they pass it to prove to us that they can pass a song.
i really hate it when people walk in front of the machine when my game is in progress.
i hate it when i forget to set the mods before i do a song.and i fail!

Also, people who play nothing but old songs on a Supernova, not even attempting a new song as their last... I mean the Supernova is 4 tokens for 3 songs, the Extreme is 3 tokens for 4 songs.... Why pay more for the song old stuff that's harder to PA?!?! |
Yeah, that hogging thing is stupid. When it comes to those people, you could finish your round, walk slowly to the bar to get a drink, come back 4 miniutes later, play agian, and have them say "Hey! Stop hogging the machine!" |
I step off the machine usually, and look around to see if anybody is waiting. If not, I just hop back on and continue playing. _________________

Here are a list of things I hate:
1. When there is a coin line with a ton of people, and no one keeps track. This happend not too long ago, like 10 people in coin line, and people keep on cutting me, I'm only 12, and they are all like 15+ so I keep my mouth shut, only got to play twice in 3 hours that day it sucked.
2. When noobs on light hang on bar for dear life after they see me pass Max 300 with the bar.
3.People who make comments about me on the machine, or if I'm doing a simple song to get extra stage, when people say I suck.
4. When people run across the pad while I'm playing. Some kids did it to me and laughed, so when they tried it again, I stuck my foot out.....
5. When people stomp on the pad. I saw two guys playing on heavy, hey were stomping the hell out of the pad, and they were failing cause they couldn't move fast enough.....also, I despise people who stomp in high heels, it just kills me inside to see the panels be murdered....
6. When I'm playing a ten, people enjoy messing me up and it pisses me off ...I was playing PS, and it was when I was first starting to pass it, and i'm on the crossovers, and some girl starts screaming at me "STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP!!!!" Not only was I like wtf......but I failed...
Well I'm done ranting for now.....more to come _________________

I don't really get po'ed at people but they can anger me. But here are somethings I hate:
When I went to Cedar Point to play and they have 3 SN machines. And I just went to the one w/ the shortest line. I didn't even look at the condish because I figured it would be fine because the machine is brand new. Then when these two girls get done... I'm step on the bad, and its sticky and muddy. It just got done raining at cedar point and these girls tracked in all this mud on the machine and spilt a pop or something. I still double A'd 321 Stars on heavy though
I don't know if its just me or not.... But I cannot stand the Speed Mods. I call em' speed cheats. I hate when people think they're so good at DDR when they have it on 1.5x or 2.0x. I've always played on 1x because thats what the game was made to play on. The 1x is a lot harder than many songs on 1.5 and 2.0 x . |

I hate people complaining about the way other people do things. If you are obsessed to the point that you feel angry at the way people play, get over yourself and grab a life when you step outside.
When people do things that directly effect you, sure be pissed. But when people are doing things their own way, such as using the bar on light, using speed mods or whatever else, you have no business being angry. To be honest, people like this wreck the game for everyone else by being such an bumhole about the game.
Yeah, I hate Elitists who consider themselves to be better than everyone else because they play Arrow Smash. The most hilarious thing is, most of these people are the 'noobs' that they all 'detest' so much. Almost the old school DDR guys are actually decent people who know where they stand.
That isn't to say that every old schooler isn't an bumhole, or that all the new guys are assholes, it just kinda swings that way.

If the game was made to be on 1x, there wouldn't be speed mods. The best players in the world use speed mods. Does that make them cheaters? NO. My friend believe the same thing as you. Even on ItG (who's default speed mod is 1.5x), he says if you use anything above 1x, your score doesn't count. This pisses me off. People have different styles of play and speed mods are VERY common. You still have to step just as fast and also learn to read faster. In a way, it makes some songs harder (a MAX on 1.5x > MAX on 1x). _________________

1: If I simply drop some change on the machine, some stupid little kids get their fingers crushed under my feet.
2:People who say I waste too much time playing ddr, The reason I REALLY hate this? Only fat people have told me this.
3:When people who have played mario mix try the arcade, they think heavy is equivilent to very hard, and totally fail, and make lame excuses like the pad was sticky...
4:When two people hold a conversation right next to you when DDR, it's VERY hard to concentrate on the song instead of whatever the hell they're talking about... |

It's interesting how some of these people in the thread are singing praises about 1x speed when their join date places them as only playing DDR for the first time in the past year or two... when speed mods have been around since max
Perhaps its some pathetic retroactive effort to look 'old skool' and part of the 'scene'. Newsflash guys, normal people don't care how others play a silly game where you splat panels with your feet while sweating. _________________

1. The people i play with gets waaaay off beat and stomps really loud!!!!
2. When people try to skip you when you put your credit in first,
3. When I play solo mode, stupid people go on the other pad acting like a retard.
4. Also, how people spill their drinks or food right next to the pad
Those are some things that gets me angry when I'm playing DDR.
And for the mods, they put it there to have fun i guess, either to challenge yourself with reverse, stealth, dark ect.
or to help you, if you can't read arrows on 1x, then its good to use
mods once and awhile, but strongly recommended to practice on 1x

^ yeah i know what you mean about stompers and people with high heels.
and that is why sometimes the arrows do not register for that particular reason.i wonder what might the arcade technicians think? or maybe they should put up a sign near the DDR machine exclaiming, "Stop,no high heals,or wearing hard soled shoes before entering the dance pads."
and when noobs stomp they do not do it by beat, they annoy the heck out of everybody.

I actually had someone try to steal my quarter last week when they were finished. It was obvious that they had never played in an arcade before... but still... the place where the token goes... it's so obvious that it wasn't theirs. And they SAW me put it there, I know they did. It irritated me to no end. If you're going to play in an arcade, at least pay attention to the ettiquite. dammit. >.< |
