Yeah, it's $299.99 for the platform itself...then you have to add shipping. It would be around $350.00 total in USD for just the pad.
When I ordered my Flux with the arcade mod, the total (with shipping) came out to $382.94 USD. When you convert that into Canadian dollars, it's $428.05. My mom called FedEx and payed the duties, and customs over the phone. It's close to $500.00 now.

The Blueshark offers the same amount of warrenty as Cobalt Flux does. They're both six months. With Blueshark, you can return it for a refund within 15 days. Good luck deciding. It took me a while to decide also, but I went with the Flux. |

That is basically the best way to put it. I heart my home built pad... _________________

I have to blueshark, and it is a near EXACT replica of the arcade mat, if not better. Imo, this can easily outlast the CF without any real maintence- problems can be isolated and fixed within minutes (the only problem would be that the arcade sensors might start to slip a bit, but this can be easily remedied). THe only problem I have with it is that the start button on the control portion of the pad doesn't work, but its nob ig deall. MMB has great customer service, uber response time- bad english though haha. |

When you say that it's the exact replica of an arcade pad, are you referring to the ITG2 pads? Also, the pictures of the Blueshark that are on MMB's site looks like the center panel isn't any higher than the arrows. If that's true, how can it feel like the arcade? O.o

Actually, the center panel is about 1-2mm above the arrows- just like t he aracdes, I feel no difference when I play on either. |

Possible difference?: It appears that the arrows on the Blueshark sink when they are stepped on. It doesn't do that when I play at the arcades. |

Seriously, if you want a pad thats going to last you, DIY. I've had my homebuilt pad since February, and yes I've had to do a few tune-ups, nothing major. You can control how much yout pad costs, and the beauty of it is if something goes wrong (which is inevitable with metal pads) you can fix the problem yourself immediately since *you* built it. Besides, custom graphics FTW. _________________

Oh, here's another idea: something that's easy to take apart and look at.
After seeing the insides of a metal pad, you'll know how incredibly basic it is to make your own.
It takes no more skills than those learned in a middle school shop class, and no more money than the cheapest of worthwhile pads. _________________

I am pretty much incompetent in this stuff. I suppose I can study up in my very VERY small free time, but for now, I'd rather have a prebuilt one. Remember, I'm gettin this for Christmas . |
Yeah, same here.
Building a pad would take alot of work, and it seems really complicated. XD
Anyway, my Cobalt Flux arrived today. |

It does take alot of work, but it's alot of fun. And it only cost 200 or so instead of 400 Just follow Riptide's videos and make a few modifications of your own to make it just how you like it. And use a real metal pad control box...trust me. I love my homemade pad. It feels almost exactly like the arcade. My contact system is a BIT louder when you step on the arrows, but it works great... and I play 13s on it. So I strongly suggest you look into making your own if you like to build things and have the tools _________________

Good luck carrying the Flux out of my house, my wood gives you splinters.
I don't think I'd try to build a home-made pad. I'd need a LOT of help. XD |

No I do not.
I've heard alot of them breaking after Heavy/Expert use. Still, they are on eBay for $160.00 for two. Seems like a pretty good deal considering that's pretty much the same price for two Intec platforms and they suck. You could mod the TX-1000's somehow though...if you wanted. |

I agree that its a good deal - my TX1000 is still working and I paid $70 for it. And heck, the wood and brackets probably cost almost half of that price, so consider it a head s tart on building your own |
