I don't think the point is to drive Konami into the ground, but rather to not give them any of the boycotter's hard-earned money. I doubt anyone here is naive enough to believe their individual boycotts will cut into Konami's sales a lot. |

Who cares? How else would you describe the game to someone with no info about the game? DDR is a great example to help people understand what ITG is. _________________

Yes, because if a company can only make money by
1) Ripping off other companies' ideas, or
2) Creating bland games that aren't that great,
Then protectionism makes enough sense to completely ignore copyright law.
I hereby declare the founding of a company called Dance Up the Pump Groove Revolution with hit songs like Carrotnoia and Bitchconnected and Danger is a Love Zone.
Of course I don't deserve a lawsuit! I'm poor =( _________________

I've seen and played it at my local "Rounding 3rd." Cross Mode (DDR panels), Diagonal Mode (Pump it Up panels), and Techno Mode (only 9 panels).
What I was talking about is 9 panel mode and 18 for double mode. _________________

Yes-
ITG3 is still on.
And sadly they're not calling it 'In The Ground' either |

My original post is still the best I have to contribute. I'm sorry I'm just reposting it, but it seems like a couple people are new to the discussion and this thread isn't being actually moderated, it's just a permanent chatroom really.
(reply for linkismyhero. I'm sorry I can't find a specific e-mail address for Naoki, but I know that it does exist. There's this though. Thank you for writing a reply.)
Actually, I do have two more cents, but I borrowed both pennies from someone else. I thought that was appropriate. If you're boycotting Konami then what you're basically saying is that you support this kind of behavior (of people like RoXoR, PopCap, and others). The plaintiff is not always the bad guy. It doesn't matter if it's the big guy doing it to the little guy, or the little guy doing it to the big guy. |

My 2 cents:
Konami just wants royalties from ITG. Roxor will still be making it, Kind of like what happened with PIU. _________________

Is there any part of that statement you actually believe, or were you just speaking for the hell of it? Please say it was the latter. _________________

They are quite ruthless and simply do not care about the consumer/fanbase. Traditionally, any Japanese company would only be interested in crushing/dissolving their competition.

Last time I checked, Nintendo was a Japenese company. _________________

!Super top secret insider info! confirming the release of ITG3:
Quote: | Derek,
There have been many changes over the past three weeks. In The Groove 2 is being acquired by another company. The price will be going up quite a bit, and, we will no longer be able to offer you the free upgrade to In The Groove 3. All I can promise you is that I will request that the new company give you the free upgrade as well. We WILL however honor the quoted price from Ryan Gibson. Support will still be offered through Roxor Games.
Thank you very much for your business.

Hey, I got mine from somewhere else.
But it's not really news.
ITG3 will still come out.
I just hope ITG2 CS will be released by Konami. |

and this is based on....? a seemingly private email from a "director of sales"? have you ever delt with people in the position of "director of sales"? they will say pretty much anything to keep you their friend if it means getting your business, its like a PR guy; except driven by commission. i hardly count this as any concrete evidence. not like i care either way; i dont play itg, but i will not believe it is being released untill i see an official announcement from someone with actual authority and not someone in a position of frequent bending of truths. _________________

Heh.
The thing is, most of you know my source, just you don't know this person is my source.
I'll shut up now.
Anyways, Disconnected Zeo will still make it's debut, which is all I care about. |
