It's a high res scan of the screen shown in the ITG3 ad, tell me that doesn't look good. |

Oh, well, in that case, I know where you're coming from.
I can sympathize with that. |

Many, many court cases have transacted in the last ten years wherein logos, source artwork, music, slogans, source code, libraries, etc were all considered to be intellectual property. It's the prevailing usage. _________________

Hmm... I don't know it looks like to me but it looks like In The Groove might be getting dismantled to me. For one if you look at http://www.inthegroove.com all ITG graphics (but not Roxor graphics) have been removed from that site.
I checked over www.konami.com (by the ways www.konami.com/gs is no more all game information is directly on www.konami.com now), the website site has been redesigned. However they had no copy of the press release (I can't find press releases period on that site) nor any information on In The Groove. _________________

Yes, but the ITG boards have not.

well, just like Microsoft, "if you can't sue 'em, just by 'em."
Now, it's only a matter of time before Konami buys the IR to RedOctane. XD
I hope Konami's action will result in the greater good of both ITG and DDR franchises. |

You know now that I think about it...wasn't there was a time, in japan anyway, when Konami was accused of making a game called Dance! Dance! Dance! for psone that had gameplay very similiar to Bust A Groove? It flopped though due to the fact it contained dull characters and horrible music. |

This could just be the way I'm interpereting it, but isn't it pointless to hope that Konami continues ITG?
From what I've read:
- Roxor owns ITG, but isn't allowed to make it traditionally anymore.
- Konami owns the 4-panel (and 6) Up-Down-Left-Right Dance Simulation concept
- Konami does NOT own ITG, therefor they CAN'T make a sequal, even if they wanted to.
(for an easy example, roxor doesn't own DDR, and therefor can't make DDR games... duh lol)
This means that the ONLY way ITG will ever become an arcade franchise again is if they "Think outside of the box" and make a new style of dancing game. This means it can't be just U-D-L-R like konami's machines, and it also can't copy PUMP, and it also can't copy Techno Motion or EZ2Dance or Pop'n Stage, etcetera. If ITG3 really does come out, ITG fanboys will be taken aback by the new layout, regardless of wether it's good or bad, it will be totally different, so it's going to take getting used to. (maybe they could make a 7-panel dance game, like PUMP, but with an additional left and right buttons, making it almost circle-shaped, haha.)
Am I right? |

Mr. Kyle is a Song writer, Step maker, and a member of the ITG team, beyond that (I don't know much about him not much. I am not wanting to back myself into a corner here, so let me say this I am observing what I am seeing on websites. So I am taking my guess in things. I am probably wrong in the long run. (You should have seen me when Nintendo of America took over the Pokemon Trading Card Game from Wizards of the Coast in 2003) but all I know is that things somehow work out in one way or the other in the long run. So I am just going to watch and see what happens. _________________

Hey, I'm not trying to one up you here. I don't know much more about him either, just that he's very, VERY dedicated to the ITG community. |

They CAN'T continue it, right? Even if they wanted. RoxoR can't continue it either, unless they rebuild it almost completely. so yeah, ITG is dead, unless they rebuild it, in which case: ITG as you know it is still dead no matter what. |

If Konami buys it, it only looks like it will be intergrated into the Dance Dance Revolution series. Which worries me because we may lose the exclusive mods, the unique marathon and survival modes, and/or the music. I worry I really do worry. _________________

True, but then again, since ITG has so many rediculous mods in it already, assuming Konami did buy ITG, they could make ITG3 with a godly amount of pointless mods... literally anything you could imagine.
Doesn't that sound just as possible? |

I don't. I thought the ITG2 Dedicab looked absolutely dredful. Bright red on blue does NOT mix. Someone failed at designing it. |
