That's odd because all the people in my school who play it are skaterz. So, in my town, no. |

How does skating automatically eliminate the possibility of someone being a geek? _________________

When I said skaterz, i was talking about the stereotype. If i wasn't, I would have said "people who enjoy skating" wouldn't i? |

Also, if we are geeks, we have one thing on many others: We're fit geeks . |
DDR gives you zero-muscle building. Yes, it allows you to lose weight via burning calories, but unless you are jumping rather than stepping on each arrows you aren't getting a muscle workout. So you'd be skinnier than the average geek, but not more fit. But... you would have good endurance when it comes to running... |

Well... I remember playing at Chinatown Fair in Manhattan and um... the DDR players there, definitely not geeks lol. If we define geeks as people who are into anime, theoretical sciences... I dunno, it can be generalized that we DDR players are in fact geeks but I mean come on now. We shouldn't associate DDR playing with "Geekdom" because this is pretty obvious, but DDR for the most part doesn't make the person a geek. _________________

First off, yes. If you post in a forum exclaiming your love for... well, pretty much anything, but especially a game, you, my friend are a g33k. Also, the general readership of this forum has spend an unwholesome ammount (by that I mean a large ammount, whether it's beneficial physically or not) of time on an arcade machine, be it DDR, PIU, or ITG. Not to mention (and I know this is a gross generalization, but many of you also frequently watch japanime. Which is also a very g33ky thing to do.
So you are a geek. Maybe not quite as bad as I, neccessarily, but by the point that you're as l4me as I am, it becomes kinda a badge of pride. What it breaks down to is that no matter what you are, I'm still way moar awexome than you. :] _________________

eg: Two indentical twins do the exact same thing every day their whole lives. except, for one year, for 2 hours a day, one of them plays FFXII, while the other plays ddr. At the end of that year, which is more fit? Noone, noone ever with any basic logic (like 5 year old logic I'm talking here), would think that the RPG dude would be more fit than the ddr dude. That's just freakin' retarded, holy crap. |

Wooooohooo
We're geeks. I'm a geek. I happen to be a very well-adjusted one with an actual social life as well, but a geek nevertheless. Remember: we're all on a DDR FORUM. I think that's settled.
As long as you have other DDR geek friends then you're solid. _________________

Ok, fit being muscle building was what I meant. DDR doesn't build muscle, only burns fat and builds endurance... if you play for hours. |
