|
|
Hi there. I'm wondering if I should really take heed to the warning on the Konami Pad that you should only play barefoot. I know some people play with socks, but I'm not sure if that applies to this pad.
I tried playing a couple songs of DDR Extreme 2 with socks and I thought it was a bit easier to play, without all the sweat and all. I'm inclined to play with socks from now on, but I just want to make sure wearing socks won't make the Konami Pad explode or something (exaggeration, but you get the idea... )
Thanks. |

I dont htink it really matters. When wearing shoes, it will like break it. With socks and barefootm, tis tooo soft and spongy to break it |

Nah, it really doesn't matter.
The pad will last for the same amount of time whether you wear socks or play barefoot. Playing barefoot kind of sucks though because the pad sticks to your feet. |

Haha...yeah I've had some problems with sweat a couple of times before...so socks are really helpful. I didn't know if perhaps static electricity was a reason for the warning or something; I haven't had problems yet, so this could possibly just be an evil plot by Konami to test the frustrating effects of sweat on DDR scores...>_<
Now I can actually do songs on Standard...whee.... |

Congratulations.
..and by barefoot I think Konami meant "play without shoes." My softpads lasted me about two months; one month was on Heavy/Expert. |

yeah, and now you have a CF *jealous*
i've been playing in socks for 9 months (i play in shoes for 6 footers and below). you get less friction with socks, making you move faster. (which is reeeealy important when on heavy/expert). _________________

unfortunately, i got used to the low friction after a while, and i sucked at the arcade.
not by much, but still....i can't double step as fast. |

I believe they say the No Socks thing because you have a greater chance of slipping on their pad. Fall. Die. Etc.
I always played in socks when I had my soft pad...but once you go arcade, you never go back (until the CF that is) |
