I find it kinda odd how some of the most random songs kept their background videos, or even got new / higher quality ones.

If I can trust that list that somebody posted a while ago, then it's not random: the only old songs that got background videos either debuted on a home version with a full-fledged music video ("Your Rain", "You're Not Here", "Polovetsian Dances and Chorus") or appeared on DDREX2 with a brand new animation ("Brilliant 2U", "Afronova (from the Nonstop Megamix)", etc.).

By the way, you can learn which songs have background vids at the following links (courtesy of BemaniWiki):
Console songs
Returning songs
New to Supernova songs
If the column after BPM has a circle or star in it, there's a background movie.

I was wondering where I had put that, heh. Most of the old ones seem to be the big-name song of each mix, though why some mixes were left out (5th?) is beyond me.

Why don't BE LOVIN, Heaven is a '57 metallic gray (gimmix) and La Bamba, have circles next to them? They were in Extreme 2.

Um, I'm fairly sure that "Heaven is a '57 metallic grey", at least, got a new animation on DDREX2. I mean, I don't remember those fat suited guys from the arcade...

They were in the original Extreme background video, but you are right; every single song on Extreme 2 got a unique video. Even the Oni Remixes. The videos were similar, but weren't simple cut'n'paste re-arrangements.

Why does Konami feel the need to put stupid BPM changes in songs frown.gif

I dunno, but I like how they placed the bpm change in this song, which is whenever the chorus comes. Although the song itself doesn't intensify, it does make a transition point as it enters the chorus, and the bpm changes somehow suit the transition well. I hate needless bpm-changing as much as the next guy, but I try to imagine the chart without the bpm changes, and it only seems like it would be less-interesting.

However, I seriously hope Konami doesn't further this frequency of bpm-changing in music once they go beyond SuperNOVA, because it is obviously a theme in this mix that is being seriously exploited (especially with all the boss songs changing bpm drastically, and a seemingly new boss/song series that identifies itself with huge bpm changing being introduced), and it's a nice change of pace that is done well. However, there are other intuitive ways of making cool stepcharts, so I really want to make sure Arcade DDR stays fresh like it always has been since 6th mix once another arcade mix (hopefully) releases (let's just leave it to Fascinations, hm?). After SN, I'd like to see another concept brought to the table. =D

Also, I really don't like how the guy in Flow TS did the vocals. He was great in the "Drop the Bombs", but I noticed that even in those songs, there were moments where it seemed like he was needlessly half-flowing to the rhythm, and Flow TS seems to have a greater of this occasion (which is ironic). =/

Then again, I'll probably have to hear a more clear audio of this.

Just played them both on a V2 cab, and no, the only difference is the BPM change.

also, I got 100+ Greats on MOON on that machine. I really, REALLY, hope I was having a bad day and it wasn't changed.

Also, Xepher is better.

Sorry for being late with my post, but:

DDR didn't care about Full Combo since DDRMAX and later.
The AA worked at 93% of the DP.

Now SN is the same, but at 95%.

Since this now seems to be the place to discuss the AC and CS version:

Other details I am excited about being revealed OTHER than the cruddy songlist (which isn't that great):

-Confirmation of link feature with Supernova AC
-Support feature so I can get all of the stupid characters on EX2 and MAYBE Memories on EX
-New modifiers like what was seen on Strike! and maybe unlocked in regular play
-The new Mission Mode, hopefully more like EX and less like EX2 in terms of difficulty
-New Eyetoy games (okay, maybe not...)

This is true for DDR arcade releases, but NOT for some of the more recent home releases: DDR EXTREME (US), DDR FESTIVAL (JPN), Dancing Stage Fusion (EUR), DDR EXTREME 2 (US), Dancing Stage MAX (EUR), and DDR STRIKE (JPN). Also included is the often (and rightfully so) forgotten Europen arcade mix Dancing Stage Fusion.

See every Bemani forum for the past two years for more info.
