Don't take it too hard. I added the E15.gif at the end since I know it's a matter of opinion (although the majority opinion is that MAX. is rubbish).

Oh good, another Maximizer. Is it a Max? Is it not? Let's ask the Konami staff what they think and then ignore their responce!

We obviously need to see another Fascination boss song to say that this is a new boss song series... if it is, than the MaXX means nothing more than the Max in PSM and Dirty Mix. It would be an interesting turn of events if it works out like that, but given the available information, I think it's safer to say that they just pulled a JAPAN.

I thought this thread was about sync issues.

The thread's about Konami's addressing of the sync issue, i.e. the patch. E15.gif

Isn't the 祭 JAPAN vs. 祭 (J-SUMMER MIX) "issue" a little different? 祭 (J-SUMMER MIX) did come frist, in the world of Bemani, and "JAPAN" is at least implied in the "J-SUMMER MIX" subtitle if not explicitly stated. Furthermore, it is obvious that those two songs (and 祭 JAPAN (From Nonstop Megamix)) are all remixes of one another. I've actually yet to find a part of FAXX that reminds of of ANY of the other MAX songs, whereas all of the prior established MAX songs had at least some threads in common. The most different were TloM and MAXIMIZER (deal with it), and even then you could pick out some motifs in common with the other MAXes.

2MB has already done a Max remix. Why would he do another one?

I've got a question for anyone who can get to a patched machine.

Extreme makes references to Edit Data even if memory slots are not installed. As of right now, there are zero SuperNOVA machines with memory slots... but, does the patched version make any references whatsoever to playing Edit Data? I'd be expecting something like "press Right Right to choose Edit Data" on the bottom of the Music Select screen.

If the answer to this is no, me sad.

I've gotten on the backs of the management at the arcade I play at, so hopefully we'll be getting the update installed very soon. The place I played at had absolutely no clue any sort of update was on the way. Shows how much they care for the machines >:/

If anything, there's a good chance that they designed it now so that it's hidden until the machine detects the slots (i.e.: Plug and Play, where it will automatically install the drivers upon booting up the machine), which should be arriving soon, seeing that the game comes out in less than two weeks. If CF gets the patch, I'll check, but if they're not there, then they probably have the references tucked away until the machine actually detects the hardware.

I wonder how they're going to implement memory card support anyway? Wouldn't they have to cut open the front of the cabinet to install them? That doesn't sound like something most operators would be willing to do.

If you notice the front panel, it has six screws: three on the top above the start buttons and three below near the coin door. All you have to do is remove those screws to remove the panel, disconnect and unscrew the start and arrow buttons, and replace it with a pre-fabricated panel (there's a good chance Konami will do this), which has memory card slots mounted on them, reinsall and reconnect the buttons, run a data cable (probably USB) from the slots to the PS2 main board, screw the new panel back on, and that's it.

They can mount to the sides like the USB slots for the ITG Boxors do.

No, it's just "rabbit". Granted, that is her first name, but it's also the first name of Usagi Yojimbo, who can kick her buttocks any day.

Heh. You're awesome, Uiru. I'm kinda glad they included Maximizer in SuperNOVA so that this argument could be dredged up again. E10.gif I just wish I had a good record of FloatWalk-I mean Mel B-I mean Thinner Mr. Wendell's statements certifying it as a new Max.

Ah, ok. I think I've seen those kind before now that I think about it. It also reminds me of people trying to stick tokens in the memory card slots, but at least they don't fit biggrin.gif

You sure? I thought it was a bunch of people masturbating over a new song.
